i come back after 1 year to play some league, i jump straight to my comfort zone good ole swain , low behold, hes nothing like he once was . Sure he looks cool but thats was just the smokescreen for the raping of his kit . his ultimate is laughable now strikes no fear in people like it once did, hes built around his Q who took the spot of his once lovely raven beatrice ...(i miss her just talking about it T.T) and u giove me this cool grip , ok fine i have no issue ther , ill trade his stun for that grip , but ill gladly return, if u give back my Q or fix his original fucking ult . and his passive?! soul steal which works only with his ult and only after u consume enuff hp during his ult to blow up, LAME AF, riot u killed my favorite champ ... only one i truly loved... and for that FUCk YOU going back to my cave were league doesnt exist. good riddens

Swain is actually super good right now, so clearly it's more of an issue of you jumping onto a new champ after not playing for a year.

I mean hes a lot better now.... But I did prefer the last iteration of Swain.

His passive does more than just charge up his ultimate. Each time you steal souls, you heal and deal damage to the enemy you stole it from (unless you're collecting it from corpses - that doesn't damage them).

As for his kit - it's leaps and bounds better than his original kit by a HUGE margin. His new ult is very much like his old ult, and the sheer damage his explosion can do is MORE than capable of striking fear into enemies, as it can put a huge dent, if not outright kill, most enemies caught in the blast.

As an addendum, Beatrice is still there. As Swain steals souls, birds accumulate on the map and sit on walls and terrain. However, there is ALWAYS one bird that sits on the walls if you don't have any souls, and that is Beatrice, or what we can assume to be her. Beatrice as you knew her is now the Raven Demon of Secrets that Swain has gone into contract with who provided him with a new arm. He makes a joke about Beatrice if you'll listen, he sometimes says "So which one of you is Beatrice?"

ok maybe your right to some degree maybe i might have overreacted, i love swain enuff to try and make it work just feels foreign and given the games ive played he feels very vulnerable now

He's vulnerable early, but then, so was old Swain. Swain has always been incredibly immobile, and it's always been after he gets something like Rod of Ages or Rylai's under his belt when he starts to not be so vulnerable. The new Swain just has more direct aggressive spells now, and doesn't rely completely on AOEs to try to kill people. Old Swain had difficulty killing opponents in outright fights because his spells weren't effective at dealing with foes one on one, and he only scraped by through basically surviving his way through lane fights. Now he can actually be effective if someone tries to get aggressive on him, and he is a much more immediate threat than old Swain ever was.
