Meddler claimed that Wukong will receive some sustain due to his nerfs. Where is it?

After having 8.16 launched, Meddler, pretty much on behalf of the Riot Balance Team, said this approximately a month ago and it went like this:

**_"Wukong, however, has been hit pretty hard by the combination of direct nerfs and Rune changes. We'll see whether he stabilizes before potentially making changes to him (burst threshold changes add a brief but noticeable relearning period). If he remains as weak as he's currently looking we'll want to do something for him, likely in a way that doesn't add burst damage back (so something like sustained damage, tankiness, regen etc)"_**

Yes, Wukong did receive a buff. But it does not give him anything mentioned above to make him better (sustained damage, tankiness, regen). They buffed his attack speed damage, which does not really benefit Wukong at all since his laning phase is one of the worst in the game due to his outdated kit.

As a Wukong player, I do agree that his burst damage was not deserved when the release of item 3095 came out, and power-spiked Wukong's damage to a stupid amount for a champ with a click-and-delete (outdated) kit. However, Riot may have gone too far with the nerfs. They first nerfed his go-to rune, Electrocute, hard, nerfing his already-weak early game. Then, Riot nerfed his (one of) his go-to item, item 3147. What else can make this worse? Buffing the tanks and a lot of other champs that Wukong can win against. (this may be because they did need those buffs, but it still puts Wukong in a worse position)

I do not know how Riot plans to add any of the points mentioned above to Wukong because the only way to do that is with at least a rework. Wukong was queued with a Rework but he was removed from the list since China, who right now contains the almost half of the League population does not want Wukong to be reworked since they like how he is since his kit is based on the tradition of the demigod Wukong from "Journey to the East"

Just because as a Wukong player, once you pick up item 3095, item 3147, and item 3142 grants you the ability to instantly one shot ADCs in the mid-late game does not mean that Wukong deserves to not receive any buffs that would benefit him in lane or the jungle. If Wukong were to be behind just by a little bit, would be equal to be behind by a lot. Hence his R, Cyclone, grants him the outstanding teamfight ability, does not work well if he is behind. Why? _Because he will be will be dead before he can do to the enemy team. _

They say this... but its not even true. They think his kit is okay, but they never say they were against his rework. And it was before the hard nerfs. Almost sure they aren't fine with current trash stat of this ape.

cmon man, they're idiots. you see that by the champs they're buffing. all of 'em almost have a 50% win rate with a very high pick rate. but hey man, wukong doesn't sell so much, so they gutted him and they won't rework him. they basically said to us go fuck yourselves and stfu about wukong.

Yeah, they are unlikely to help Wukong anytime soon, particularly with Worlds coming up. In fact, Riot Maple recently had an interview with Harambe on the topic. They did mention that moving Wukong towards a bruiser type build would be likely, with lowering of scaling and increasing base damage as an option. However, if that were the case, he would still need some CC or different damage scaling to make him useful in fights. That or some sustain...

Whats sad is that there are so many good ideas out there for what Wukong could be...
