Taric toplane?

So taric toplane is quite annoying for players like me as with the runes Lethal tempo or Hails of blade. His passive makes him extremely annoying as he can spam his healing by simply just auto attacking. I was thinking that maybe hes less usefull in toplane as he is a support Thanks!.

He's always been a decent top laner, his solo lane issues are mainly in the mana department. He's great at chunking squishies, but a lot of fighters can outduel him so long as they don't face tank him like an idiot.
