A Good Counter To Yasuo

Yasuo is a champion I always have a hard time laning against (in midlane), thanks to his mobility, free shield and super-two-item-spike-power! I'm never particularly annoyed with him or think he's incredibly OP or anything. I've just never been able to effectively counter him in lane - he always goes even or better in lane than me.

Guess I'm asking you guys - how do you deal with Yasuo? What champions do well against him in your experience? Or do I just need to get gud 'cause he's actually really easy to deal with? ;)

Yasuo is very annoying pick. I never knew how to counter this pick on mid :( Literally i have problems with yasuo all the time with any picks that i played. Yasuo easly can beat up all champions, he is so skill capable that he may do everything with everybody.

Play Heimerdinger and make his life as miserable as he makes yours when you're playing something else.

so i main yasuo and the worst matchups for him are champions who don't care about windwall (ussually top lane bruisers like darius or garen) or guys who just shove and harass endlessly like malzahar or azir

another good mid counterpick although kinda weird, is urgot, legit i ain't joking

Urgot is absolutely terrible against yasuo, what are you on? All he has as projectiles aside from his ult, as well as having no form of mobility. Block his E and all he is in an unusually tanky fat bloke with mana problems.

I dunno man all that stuff makes sense but I've played the match up on both sides, the passive does a lot of work.

But yea it was more of joking then legit advice hence why I didn't really explain it like the other counters

Also probably saying "legit,I aint joking" doesn't help lol

I agree... she has to play it safe, but should also have all the tools needed to properly beat Yasuo.

Lissandra wrecks his day. His Q has a microscopically higher range than your snare (effectively the same) and it isn't a skillshot or projectile. Follow up wtih a Q and you should win the trade.

Morg would be a farm lane. He never gets to ult because he can't break your shield. He never gets to go in safely because he never gets to keep his. But unless he overcommits heavily you won't get to do anything to him either.

Some of there are straight up wrong. Ahri, Gnar, and Lux all have a very poor chance of winning that matchup unless something tips things heavily in their favor.

So true, everytime i go against a yasuo, i lose. Unless you can get all your noxious blasts off without him poking your not winning with that matchup.

Mega Gnar is the only one with non-projectile CC, so Mini Gnar, Lux, and Ahri can all have their cc blocked by a well-timed W. Not only that, but both Ahri and Lux can have pretty much their whole kit blocked by the wind wall.

Malzahar is a good counter because yasuo is weak to cc. Also jax, yi, and kha zix will beat him anyday because they just can.

I personally like vel'koz in the match up, Q can be deceiving, ult through windwall, Another one that stands out is zed, I've been on both sides of this and I'll win as zed and lose as yasuo

Pantheon mid. Off-meta as hell but great ult potential.

i wouldn't say he counters yasuo if yasuo itemizes correctly he can withstand his burst with his flow shield.

As Yorick, I tend to have quite an easy game against Yasuo. Dodge his shots and WE to victory. His windwall is useless against you, too.

idk play darius mid. yasuo can't really win against darius. or top either way does it really matter.

in mid fizz beats him really bad. annie can because annie simply beats anyone that gets in the range of her rotation.

First of all this items are really good vs him item 1054 item 3075

Second there are couple of rules

  1. Dont fight yasuo when his windwall is up (Atleast dont wast everything in windwall)
  2. Dont fight yasuo when his shield is up (Bait it out with 1 aa)
  3. Dont fight yasuo when his 3rd tornado is up
  4. Dont fight yasuo when there are lots of minions around
  5. Dont fight yasuo when his e is stacked up
  6. Contantly aa your own minions to hold the wave in the middle if you dont feel like you can get them under tower

If you are playing against trinity mallet yasuo then you are just fked up

what he can do if yasuo pushes him in? yasuo outscales him, he can't engage on him, he can't trade AA with yasuo + yasuo can block his ult

i mean there are many bad yasuos that will lose against fizz but fizz doesn't have anything in his kit that counter yasuo yasuo can even dodge his E for pete sake, with his dashes

For me, a good Ryze player can. You just aa him to remove the shield, then ult, W, Q, and E him. Bait him out into using him windwall with your snare, since his wall has a much higher cool down than your snare. Riven also just completely shits on him.

yeah they counter him in lane, he needs hexdrinker and should go for Qss, later he should be able to 1v1 any of them
