Can we give Xerath's ult the nice things that Jhin has on Curtain Call?

It's hard to miss the similarities between Xerath Rite of the Arcane and Jhin Curtain Call. However, Curtain call has the nice benefit of being able to cancel the ability early to refund some of the cooldown (10% per shot not fired). Could we get this on Rite of the Arcane? It feels bad to kill an enemy on the first or second shot and just have to fire the last one(s) into a jungle camp or the minion wave, especially early game when you're not likely to have another enemy champion to fire at.

I'm also open to explanations of why this is a bad idea.

Its already been explained by a RIOTER why it would be a bad thing. Xerath's ult is a circle. Imagine the camera zooming out so you can see everything in a RANGE: 3200 / 4400 / 5600 radius. That could seriously affect the game when you zoom our far enough to see that much of the map.

Reading is a skill that everyone must learn.

But anyways, Xerath's old kit used to do this. I think it was removed on his rework because being able to cancel a shot for a lower CD makes it really snowbally in lane.

Well you didn't have to berate me like that at least. I thought this was another post about why doesn't Xerath ult doesn't zoom out like Jhin ult does.

I wasn't around for old Xerath.
