Opinions on a counterspell mechanic?
A lot of silence spells (look at Talon, Kassadinm Leblanc) have been removed because they made the champions to oppressive to play against. While I don't really care about any of those champions (and certainly don't want to start any balance discussion on any of them) it got me thinking: how can you make silence-type ability without making it oppressive?
First of, I'll admit this idea is from Bloodline champions (credit where credit is due). But rather then completely removing your opponents ability to use abilities (ugh, I really wish I could think of another way to phrase that), what about:
Counterspell mechanic: Debuffs an enemy. The next spell an enemy casts within X seconds (or even ms) will be countered. It will still expend mana and go on cooldown but nothing will happen (think of it as a reverse Sivir spell shield).
So, would a mechanic like this have any place in LoL? Would it be possible for some assassins to have this sort of light CC without making them too oppressive?
), they all have either a very low radius of effectiveness, require you to be in harms way or pull off a combo, or allow the enemy to physically dodge the silence.
