Frost Queen's Claim

I noticed they are nerfing it on PBE to 100% mana regen and "Active slow duration now scales from 2 to 5 seconds based how far the ghosts have traveled from 4 seconds."

Honestly these aren't the issues with the item..it's as though they don't play the game. This won't stop mid laners from building it. Two simple nerfs would lessen it as an item, and maybe make it less of a nuisance and more of a balanced item. 1) Stop the gold income as soon as the item is built. 2) Up the CD of it to the same length as crucible. You shouldn't be rewarded for just walking down mid and pressing a button. People don't ge tto spam crucible on their teammates, they have to save it for an important moment. Whereas spooky ghosts are just pressed and if you're slightly out of position, you will be engaged on. The first nerf, stopping the gold income, is a big one. It should just help you pay for the item. That or the stats of the item need to go down..right now I feel like the support item is stronger than the AP jungle item just from the stats+pressure it creates. In atleast 70% of my games I face two champions on the opposing team using this item. I feel like they just wanted to make playing support feel very easy and rewarding..which diminishes the skill gap :/

I think it'll be built less for the short-range slow nerf and the buff to warding trinkets. 1 second slow is not even close to the same as a 4 second slow when they fight mid.

yeah it requires ZERO skill to use and there is no downside for using it. worst case, you get the position of the enemy jungler for free. wow.

it can be used for scouting, for engaging, for escaping, for disengaging. its fucking absurd.

I like building it on anivia, it helps to land q plus i can be full build before enemy team.

This item is viable on ali jungle with trinity force, just lost a 5v4 cause of it.

But... FQC isnt an item meant for midlaners. Its meant for poke supports.

:c Supports have it rough enough as is; theyre by far the most gold starved player on the team and often have the most need for AP/stats in general than even the mid laner. Instead of nerfing FQC, why not add a new summoner FOR supports and make it only attractive TO supports? Like a summoner thats an AoE omni slow+clairvoyence, and enables the purchase of a gold income item. Or hell even just making exghaust, something generally only supports take, a required summoner for a gold income would fix a lot of issues.

first of all. Support, isn't nearly as well defined by Summoners as the Jungle role is. Their would be a lot of complaints if they made that a requirement. (most common summoner spell is exhaust, but Many LCS support chose ignite.) To the same point, making a summoner dedicated to supports would be really hard to pull off. Put it simply, Taking smite, wasn't a large barrier for a hand full of champions to take a Jungle item in lane. And that problem would be a lot harder with a support summoner. That in mind, I do like the idea of having more items that augment summoner spells.

Also, Riot doesn't work in absolutes. They have already said they had no problem with FQC in the mid lane, so long as it doesn't drown out other items. They also claim that FQC is a bit too powerful in either position. After playing a game as Sona today. I would probably assert that claim to be true. The very fact that a lot of power comes from the active, that's completely indiscriminate of who's using it. And just about every stat on the item is useful to both supports and mages.

A lot of people will claim that supports are just going to get shafted because their items is being taken mid lane. (particularly true for the supports who haven't seen play since tanks took over.) All because Riot needs to reconcile between both positions. Which is perfectly fine. BUT, since FQC is the only support item that has this problem. It should be used as the baseline for the other support items.

You what would be cool? Mikaels crucible.

You know what else would be cool? Twin shadows. You know how to do that?

Remove FQC and have mikaels crucible build out of chalice+frostfang and re-add twin shadows.

Would be a major buff to mikaels, which i never see bought except by sorakas anymore, and AP supports wouldnt get shafted because riot has a hard time seperating supports and non supports.

obviously you don't see much pro play. The active alone is useful regardless of what champ you use. And actually, if you did that it would screw over more supports since people would become obligated to get this items. All while turning it into something that isn't FQC.

Also Twin shadows obviously was not in a good position prior to the update. It was too expensive for the supports to get. And didn't have the AP that the midlaners wanted. Unless the problem was when the active was actually useful. But if that was the case, it would be all the more reason to put it on an early game item.

riot has a hard time seperating supports and non supports.

With all due respect, I don't think Riot should. Nothing says Fck supports better than telling them to stay supports. Instead of allowing them to explore other build options.

The point of FQC is helpful active+rewarding poke supports. It doesnt NEED a slow to be useful; buffing mikaels crucible would be a GREAT change and it would let the twin shadows active be moved onto an item better balanced for mid laners.

But that's not the point of FQC. It's active always slowed, regardless of what iteration. Change that, and it wouldn't help retain FQC's identity. In fact the slow is way more useful for poke support than Crucible. The Crucible active is useful as an all around support item, and shouldn't be tied to poke support, or tanks, or utility supports. And again, it's perfectly acceptable, to reconcile FQC to both positions.

Just make it's mana regen scale by 1% for every nearby minion death that you did not deal the final blow to. Building up to 150%.

If that's not enough. Make the CDR 20%, but it only works if Sightstone is also in the inventory.

Frost Queen Claim should spawn icy beings and not ghosts but that's just me.
