The Tank Meta

Will it ever be over? I've recently come back to League to see if I can like it again, and I do for the most part. Of course, the majority of the community is still toxic and idiotic, but the game itself is fun.

However, I've come to find that "He with the most tanks wins." ADCs have been kicked around for the longest time now, with nerfs and buffs and whatnot to people who don't need it, and to be honest I feel like they've become somewhat lackluster. Mages are still strong and able to get their jobs done with some efficiency, and junglers... Well the most of them are tanky as, which is the point of this post.

Tanks now, even tanks like Maokai, someone BUILT for it... Doesn't die with more than 2 tank items, but can blow a squishy off the face of the map with relative ease. We then take it down to someone like Cho'gath, who is by all sense of the means a "tanky" mage.... that never dies and can deal over half of someone's health with one rupture.

Will it ever end? Is there and end in sight? Because this tank/bruiser meta has gone on long enough and I personally think it's time for another role to have its time to shine.

The tank meta is still a thousand times better than the assassin meta.

Personally, I find it's that "He without tanks at all has the most difficult time."

Assassins and mages are still going mid (Cho'Gath is the 13th most picked when I last checked, and the rest are squishies), adc's still go bot with supports (support tanks have always been popular, nothing has changed there), and the jungle and top laner should be picking into their team comp. Going three assassins isn't any healthier, and having two true tanks (supports fill a more specialized niche) or bruisers isn't really that overbearing. Not much changed about tanks, just cinderhulk.

Assassins need to respect the frontline and catch out squishies, and adc players need to position themselves behind their tanks and focus the enemy tank with their dps late-game build.

Can you imagine playing without an adc or support? What's wrong with making the tank role just as necessary as the carry roles?

You must of missed the entire sequence between 4.10, and the pre season. when Hyper Carries were OP. JInx, trist, and Kog, were OP and everyone was complaining about crit chance.

And it's not the one with the most tanks, except you don't want to be without a Tank. A Glass Cannon team will lose, but you will also loose if you have no damage.

Would you rather go back to the assassin meta where ADCs had the life expectancy of .05 seconds and supports .0025 seconds? I'll take banging away on brick walls over instant evaporation any day of the week. I like the tank meta, simply because IT'S NOT THE ASSASSIN META. I hope those days never come back. Good riddance.
