Champion Mastery and the new BE System

I did this in the wrong category so imma do it again right here. The champion mastery system is still linked to BE. So on top of it being an unstoppable grind to get the champions you DO like. When you do finally get them, and you wanna show off that little 5 second mastery emote in game and have the little tag hanging over your champion in the loading screen, it still costs BE. I want to get mastery 6 on Zed. I don't want to waste 3250 on a little flashing emote and a tag on the loading screen border. Why is BE still connected to the mastery system. It makes no sense and frankly isn't very fair. I can either choose to buy a new champion or get mastery 6 on zed. Why is that how it is. Why is BE still connected to the mastery system?
