So me and my friends started a ranked team and got to gold within 2 days. Then all of a sudden we started getting matched against challenger teams. 4 games in a row we have went against challenger ranked 3s teams and lost is matchmaking workings as intended? My ranked team is gold 5 i don't think i should be going up against the top 3 challenger teams the difference in skill is demoralizing.
swiftsnipe1 votesi have over 3000 games played and about half of them are on the twisted treeline. I have played a lot of ranked 3's and this has always been an issue.
There are very few active 3s teams at mid tier ranks (gold to high plat). This is because of 2 reasons:
3v3 is unpopular
the games are short and it doesn't take long to finish your placement matches.
What people do is finish their placement matches and see where they get ranked. If it's not close to diamond they disband the team and make a new one. This gets repeated until they get placed in diamond and then they will try to level it up to challenger from there.
basically in 3v3 you will play against 2 types of teams.
It's actually faster to disband a low ranking team and make a new one than to try to level it up.
