They are a decent way to spot champion experience in loading screen. Say I am supporting a Jinx, and her loading flare is tier 3. This tells me I should keep in mind this person might not always consider to follow up a snare with a trap and I should play less aggro than I would normally do because while they might be adc mains, they aren't on their main champion.
