Gangplank Rework Look Awesome. Why Aren't All Reworks This Interesting And Respectful?
It respects his character and his versatile playstyle while updating him to the new tier of power.
- his passive's power is focused but dependent on timing (and flashy!)
- his Q is still great (and even got a minor upgrade/interaction with his ult)
- his W got buffed,
- his new E is really cool and adds some great zoning pressure while replacing the somewhat dry static buff and getting rid of the invisible power (though it may have killed off support-plank),
- his ult received a great buff that is very flavourful AND gives options.
Overall, it looks like one heck of a buff that stays true to what Gangplank is in flavour and even adds new options that manage to stay consistent with, and enhance, his playstyle. It seems that whoever reworked Gangplank understood him pretty well and cared enough to make sure that he could be the best he could be.
So... who do we have to pay to give this kind of love to past reworks?
Especially Sona, who received the opposite of this, AKA mostly direct/indirect nerfs, playstyle changes inconsistent with both her original playstyle and her character, and only one, true addition to her kit (which directly conflicts with the rest of that ability). Her rework, and the (horrible) attempt at including players, felt rushed, unnecessary, and downright insulting, and the bad taste it leaves becomes even more bitter when Riot proves that it can hit homeruns like this.
tl;dr
My kingdom for a RiotGMang or CertainlyT rework for older champions. Especially Sona, who deserves something like this instead of the unloved, phoned-in nerf we received. A nerf that was designed by someone ignorant of her character and was then painted with pretty colours to distract us from what a trainwreck it was and the fact that it didn't actually solve any of her problems.
