Swain re-rework is so bad...

When I first saw the new updates for Swain I was optimistic. Then the more I thought about it I realized how this was just another problem of balancing pro play with solo queue. All the updates did was dumb his kit down while making him more tanky and deal less damage. The new soul fragments feel so boring and non-existent. It takes about 20-25 minutes to get health equal to a ruby crystal, and 30+ minutes to get two. The soul fragment change was supposedly to allow his ultimate to be always castable. Very little did I find myself not being able to cast my ult when I needed it, all it required was 5 soul fragments, which is not hard to get while your ultimate was on cooldown. While it gives more health, it does way less damage unless you wait the full 12 seconds and drain a large amount of health. When playing against an assassin it is likely they can 1 shot you in 5 seconds, much less 12. Not to mention his Q, probably the most simplified update of his kit. Before his Q required you to manage the health of the minions and other targets in order to maximize its damage, now you just spam it and it now does less damage and feels like it is shooting in slow motion with less range. Over all the changes just felt like a huge nerf to Swain power and playstyle.

Hello time traveler, what year are you playing on?

NA assassins kill people in 0.5-3 seconds. Your region doesn't seem to play them :/

Yup. They removed a lot of the nuances of his kit, lowering the skill ceiling (which already wasn't that high). If you're a terrible Swain players, this might be a buff. If you're even pseudo-compitent, it's a nerf. We lost everything for the sake of waveclear. Ironically, his waveclear doesn't feel any better. Q spread wider usually translates into less single target damage, q cd near doubled, q range down, no Mana on q. They "gave his q waveclear", but nerfed the shit out of his q. Definitely doesn't feel like his waveclear was buffed. Base hp down. Ult hp down. Ult damage down, assuming you'd have had orbs. We did get a shitty hp stacking mechanic, though.

Then you're playing him wrong.

You going Electrocute? Don't sound like it.

Going E level 1? Doesn't sound like it.

Going item 3027 I hope not. As its a shit tier item.

item 1056 Going dorans start? I hope so.

The guy is playing support swain in low elo norms so ofc he is having success without even building roa. Swain rework was a failure and this re-rework even more of a failure just because riot wont accept they messed up on his rework.

I feel like this rework could work though if they tweak his stacking His Q feels a lot better with it going through minions; it's better for lane and for teamfighting. He kept his HP lane sustain, but got back some mana sustain that might help him trade safer/more efficiently. His Ulti does take longer to kick in, yes, but it also has the potential for more damage late game which is when swain's meant to take off.

If he maybe got some obscure amount of hp per stack, like, 8 or 9, I feel like it could be a lot better

Yeah, I am not sure how I feel about this current iteration of his kit. Give it some time, and continue to give feedback. If it truly does not work, they will address the issue

Lol are y’all wack or what. The swain changes are so good. Reminds me of pre-rework Swain a little.

Passive: Health is eh but the mana refund is great. I can trade more often early game with E, and am rewarded later in the game with a little health buffer. Works well with grasp late game.

Q: Goes through minions which allows Swain to poke through the minion wave. Helps his early game dominance. Cooldown increase is a little eh, but the ult changes make up for it.

R: HEALING INCREASE IS BONKERS. Previously the healing on the ult was novelty, and rarely saved you from anything. Combined with a Zhonyas, you can heal back up to full health. The damage ain’t to shabby either, and it takes like a second or 2 to stack it to full damage. Doubling the health from the passive is icing on the cake, helping you to survive burst and come back with the healing.

They nerfed Q range. It's actually incredibly huge, it's so much worse than it was before.

I love the changes but the short Q range feels so bad now.

IDK what lane ur playing him in but he is so much better as a bot laner now that he can q poke though minion waves, and his waveclear overall is so much better. I do agree that the stacks need to be buffed to like ~7 hp per fragment cuz I find myself only getting about 60 (300hp) per game which is extremely lackluster considering that assassins like Akali Caitlyn Darius Diana Evelynn Fizz Hecarim Illaoi Irelia Jax Kaisa Kassadin Katarina Khazix Leblanc Lucian Lux Nasus Neeko Pyke Renekton Renekton Renekton Renekton Riven Ryze Syndra Talon Vi Veigar Vladimir Warwick Zed will all 1 shot you instantaneously as soon as you get within their line of sight. Overall I find the rework to be nice, I dont see the damage decrease you are talking about. I just think that 5 hp per soul fragment is just a bit too little. But I only play him bot so maybe im missing something
