Should I bother finishing Promos?

Been playing sense season one. Always start promos and never finish because most of my friends only play ARAM so I just roll with them.

Have been playing a lot of normals lately. Wanted to give promos a serious go because I noticed how many gold-diamond players I was getting matched with in normals and ARAM.

3 of the 6 games I played had leavers early in the match. Why should I finish? why should I proceed and get rated/judged based on games where my team was at a severe disadvantage?

If you want to get better, you need to play ranked. If you are worried about where you are placed you are focusing on the wrong thing. Play. Learn. Improve. Rank will come.

Too bad if you're not at least Gold, 95% of the people in the community, and on the boards, will look down on you for it even if you're a much more skilled player than the rank would imply. Honestly getting out of Bronze and Silver isn't about skill, it's about luck, getting put with people who aren't afks and leavers, and having enough time to grind the hundred or so matches it's probably going to take you to climb up ten ranks and two series.

I have played this game for quite some time. I have played vs countless Diamonds and a couple Challengers. I play in custom 1v1 all the time vs high tier players also and besides that I know the mechanics involved in winning normal games. Rank absolutely is the objective. You play ranked to earn a rank. It's is not some life calling to better you as a person, it's a video game.

The only point of this post is that I have most definitely had my possible rank lowered due to leavers, so why should I carry on in a system that will not allow me to have a fair shot at winning?
