How do you handle split pushing?

I am not sure how to handle split pushing. It seems that any time an enemy team gets a strong split pushing champion they tend to win just because of that.

My last game for example, they had a fiora who some how got fed off my Nasus. They had a Xerath and sivir who were able to clear waves instantly. Even though we had a strong lead and every lane, aside from top, was doing great. We lost due to the amount of split pushing the enemy had done. We had to send more than 1 to stop fiora from splitting which left our other 3 against 4 people who cleared waves well.

My question is: How do I handle split pushing? What do I do when i see someone fed splitting when forcing engages isnt a feasible option.

Send someone who poses enough of a threat to the split pusher to force them off/not to attack, the tower.

This can range from someone who duels extremely well and can kill the split pusher, to someone who can clear a wave super fast so the split pusher has to deal with tower damage, or even someone with enough CC they can stop the enemy from doing anything to the tower before the wave is cleared.

What if that person has enough of a lead that no one person can stop them? we had a velkoz and graves so our wave clear was good, i was on soraka so we could siege.

The problem was that one champion was fed just enough to make the fact 3 other being fed didnt matter because they decided to split push

Hard engage 5v4 on the enemy team. This means Ashe arrow, Malphite ult, anything that can force a fight when you need to. Afterwards send what you need to defend whatever tower is being pushed, send the rest to the nearest acquirable objective.

Shove your mid lane, get a slow push happening bot, ward up. Collapse on the split pusher while the rest of their team are dealing with the other lanes pushing. Have your Top Laner shove top while you and your team collapse on mid/dragon.

Rinse and repeat until they stop split pushing.

Basically, put pressure on the map so that you can afford to send people to deal with the split push. Also, control that side if their jungle so that they don't feel safe pushing.

Alright, this sounds pretty doable actually.
