My Ranked Experience

So, I just started Ranked yesterday, first game of placements, expecting to be put in a game with Bronze players. Instead, the game gets the wonderful idea of putting me in a game with gold, plat, and diamond players, and I feed my ass off. What I'm trying to say, is that the ranked system didn't give me chance to climb gradually, and it didn't let me have fun in any way. In other words, it sucked. I want to see what all of you people in the community say about this. Did I just have a bad game, am I just unlucky, or am I just an unfortunate Bronzy. I need help.

Yes you just had a bad game.

Generally, people start Ranked against mid-silver, not bronze. Gold and plat is a bit surprising, but not impossible. And anyway, your first few games are bound to be rocky, because the system needs to evaluate your level before giving you opponents corresponding to this level. The principle of the match-making and of the placement games is to find where you are by trial and error, not to put you at the very bottom by default and let you climb from there.
