OP.gg legit?

So I'm a bronze II player, and yesterday I got to a point where my MMR was 1,149 to be exact. I WON a game yesterday before getting off, and before that game I checked my mmr, it was still 1,149. So I carried as Quinn, went 15/8/? And was mainly against Bronze III players. After this game I updated my profile and it dropped (After winning a game in which it should have increased) to about 1,049 MMR. I'm pretty upset about this as I've climbed to Platinum V before on a smurf, and this will make me climb slower than my actual potential. I went from 1,149 to about 1,049 or somewhere around that area. About Bronze III, Bronze IV. Is OP.GG legit?

Riot hasn't released their official MMR formula.

Third-party websites can only provide approximations.

I see. Is that why LP increases and decreases in number from like 18 to 24?

Nowhere online can you actually see your real MMR. It's just an aproximation based on your lp gains and losses. It's not there to give you the exact numbers but what kind of matchmaking you can expect. If you switch from solo to duo it can make the op.gg calculation go crazy. They have their own alghorythm separate from riots. It's ok to have some idea but don't take the numbers for granted.
