What Am I Doing Wrong?

I'm in Silver 3 and this is literally messed up.

This game I just played I went 17/9 as Caitlyn and had 306 CS. I farmed hard for late game, played my best, avoided many deaths. I had a shitty support that would not intiate fights or deny their adc, but I still won my lane hard. On the other hand, we have a Lissandra who begged to have mid and ended up being 3/14. She never had any impact in the game and always be caught first in a teamfight or be caught when roaming.

Now this other game yesterday, someone begged to have ADC even though I main adc, and am very consistent with playing it at this rank. I would say more than 70% of the time I would win my lane and outfarm their adc. I let the person adc, and he/she couldn't even sidestep to avoid Thresh hooks. The Jinx ended up as 0/9 and made us surrender early

So can someone tell me what the fuck am I doing wrong? I play my best every game and am very consistent in my plays. However, there's always someone who loses their lane hard and I can't do anything about it. If this game is based so much on the success of your teammates how do people manage to climb to higher ranks?

This is going to sound glib. It's not intended that way.

You need to die less.

I don't remember the last time I died 10 times in a game. You want average deaths per game to be under 5 for sure.

I had 306 cs and 17 kills though. I think think having like 4 less deaths would have been the reason between winning and losing..

I very much disagree. Specifically, your death at 37 seems to be the whole reason MF was able to siege your base and get baron, throwing your lead and losing the game. You were the carry, you needed to defend them off, but you died.

Dying less is much stronger than you think. Remember, you're the biggest piece on the board. Any time you're dead, your team is getting zero objectives and their team is probably taking some. If you die 5 times instead of 10, you're playing for something like 3 more minutes next game.

Really, less deaths is what you should focus on. It's easy to correct unsafe play and improving here will win you many games you are currently losing.

Well I go over what I think is wrong then.

#1. You place almost no ward as a support, and absolutely no ward as ADC. Vision is extremely important, and can decide games. #2. Your team never seem to get dragon, which is an important objective. If the jungler seems to forget about it, you should then be the one reminding him to do it or just ping your own team when you see an opportunity. #3. Lower elo players don't always get this one and I don't know about you either, but 1 kill isn't always worth 1 death. If you farm better, you're better off not taking the kill and die since that will give a chance to the other guy to come back in the game or just get to the point he wants faster, and if you're on a killing spree, it's even more important not to die, since you will give more gold.

I can't say much more with only 2 games though.

First of all, you are not allowed to post Match Histories. What you've just done is publicly shamed a player and that is bad practice.

Solo / Duo Q is based on continously playing and learning the roles of the game. You'd be amazed how much better team mates play when one team mate is upbeat and giving out encouraging advice. I easily turned the tide of a 5 / 16 Match by pouring myself into the Chat Box and applying my abilities to every lane, every champion, and most importantly: every player.

The most important line to say to people is that they are good. No one face rolls 10+ deaths on accident. That occurs when players are lazy or distracted.

Never put the blame on your team mates. They are not your problem. You are your own problem. How can you lift the mood? How can you make a loss feel like a victory in sportsmanship?

Judging by the amount of Honor you've received, it seems pretty obvious that you aren't applying yourself to the greatest ability. It is one thing to play well. It is a completely different thing to play honorably.

First, its silver III. Second, you cant trust anyone claiming they "main" something (cause they are more likely lying to get a certain lane or role). Third, cait late game cannot carry as hard as other adc's so, try to finish the game earlier (cause that game with cait you had, went far the 40 min mark, hek, even the 30 min mark when she's effective). Fourth, you went support... in silver III. There are certain roles where you cannot carry hard at low elo. Try go mid, adc, or top. Most likely top for solo Q. My 2 cents.

To answer the "what am I doing wrong" question: I would suggest going back and watching as many of your defeat replays as you can (if you aren't already). Do your absolute best to analyse with an impartial eye. Don't make excuses for poor performance; it's very easy to let your ego do that. Stay impartial, like a scientist analysing microbes, criticize yourself, but also be able to fairly recognise when you did something well and build on those strengths.
