FPS is horrible for leauge

Hello fellow users of the web lol..

So i honestly dont know whats up with my laptop.. i have literally done everything ive found on the web to make this work just a little bit better. The laptop works great for about the first 5 min or so and then just gets boged down.. specs are Intel Celeron N2840 @ 2.16Ghz 4GB ram and intel HD graphics.. The cpu is always at 99% and its usually from just one program that i have open.. if its skype then the cpu is overloading from that or if leauge is open its that which is like 500mb on my cpu which idk if thats right.. At random times everything just stops responding or i can never have leauge minamized and try to go on youtube because then youtube wont load or audio will play and the video will be paused... All i really want is for the laptop to play leauge at a normal fps not 20 and 30 when all the settings are on low... I read tips on how to increase fps on leauge and nothing helped besides when my games loading and i go to task manager and end the lolclient.exe program which makes me have to log in everytime my games over and its annoying... i have ran smart test cclean malware bytes checked the cpu gpu temps and such and such and everything is good and nothing is never hot .. it just has so much shit going on nothing can ever load right.. I think its because the graphics card for some reason because theres no reason youtube videos should lag the whole time im trying to watch them .. i just dont know what else to do item 3073

laptop works great for a few secs then gets bogged down = probably a hardware issue or data issue.

First, before anything, open your task manager and see how your computer runs with nothing running.

Then open a custom game of league and just play a for a little bit with your laptop plugged in. Test how fast it heats up and how hot it gets. Be sure to check your computer settings.

Next open your this PC folder or this computer or whatever equivalent you have and see how much memory you have left and how much ram you got.. post all that stuff here. Post the Hz thing too and tell us what operating system you use (windows, mac, Linux, whatever).

From here there is a next step depending on what the results are or if theres nothing suspicious going on then there's probably more to look at.

More than likely though your computer is getting too hot and slowing down. On my old laptop I had to open the panel and use a pencil or something to start the fan for games to function

The computer runs great in a custom game by myself because there is no team fighting for the fps to drop.. i can easily get 60-100 fps in a custom but once online it goes from 20-60 like every 5 seconds until i close the lolclient.exe and then it runs at a steady 40 fps until team fighting or a fight .. once that happens my computer and leauge freeze for about 10 seconds and i can do nothing but wait for the screen to come back on leauge... and i have windows 8.. also the laptop never gets hot... like it never has which i find funny because i used to have a gaming laptop that would get hot from leauge.. however this isnt even right by the vents

also not sure what you mean by going to my files to see how much ram i have left

see how much space in on your computer and how fast your computer is. You can google the instructions for either, anyone who plays ANY games on their computer should learn to do or at least find this.

WARNING: this second one uses a disputed method, some recommend against it but if you don't care about a few uncommon errors then just do it.

That actually isn't normal.

But anyways go into your ingame menu in customs and set the benchmark to something like 25 fps to avoid too many issues. More importantly turn on your V-Sync. You will need to experiment with the benchmarking levels but you probably want your v-sync on I think. it seems like your computer is trying to do something it can't handle

It sounds like the problem may be your settings on a kindof slow computer.. then again you have windows 8 hurrrrrr

My League started acting really really stupid and my FPS would go very low. Then I realized I had my laptop in battery saving mode lol.

People claimed that Overwatch would kill League, but that First Person Shooter didn't do anything damage it.

is your disk usage also high? if so could be some hidden malware disk usage is usually only high when you are just opening programs or just logged back in from a reboot.

GekyumeGoingBot1 votes

its does get high at random times when everything is loading but then just goes right on the cpu when everything is done loading.. i check and look to see whats running in the task manager and all of it looks like important window and realtek audio stuff that when i say end task it tells me not to

Commit Sudoku1 votes

realtek audio controls your audio software so dont end that task what may be happening is a malware program is using a lot of your disk usage and displaying as if something else is using it. i used to have this problem and it was slowing down my whole system so one day i got fed up with it and i wiped my hard drive and reinstalled my OS because i didnt feel like buying virus software my computer works much better and im just careful what i click on and where i go

you could probably try malwarebytes free for a month or something and maybe fix your problem if it is malware

generally your disk usage is pretty low when not initiating new programs to open if it is constantly 70%+ and bouncing around a lot you might have the same problem as i did

i tried that 30 min ago and malware found nothing :| .. im pretty smart when it comes to these things and usually know what is going on but... this time its like ... idk what is lol

GekyumeGoingBot1 votes

the disk ususally stays at 1 to 0 % until i try to open something then goes to 99 and back down

idk what to tell you my solution was delete everything and restart and it worked like a charm i didnt even need to understand what the problem was exactly just restarting from scratch worked

the laptop is factory reset for like a week ago .. i would love to say that worked for me lol

Do you have background apps running? Anything you can delete to free space? How's your internet normally? Are you windows 10 or 8? How old is your laptop? Do you need to update any drivers?

GekyumeGoingBot1 votes

i usually close everything when i play league to try to get that 1 extra fps.. so no. and i could delete some stuff to free space but for what? and i have 750 MB down and 50 up ,.. and windows 8 and its like 2 years old and no to the drivers i just checked those a hour ago.. said everything was up to date lol

420 grams1 votes

My possible idea is that all your drivers are actually out of date because they updated for windows 10, and since you have 8, they think they're up to date but aren't. Other than that, what Intel do you have? My laptop that is 5 years old with Intel 4400 ran league fine (has a lot of other problems though). Maybe clear your system cache? Reinstall league? Bite the bullet and get windows 10? Do a factory reset on your computer, or at least a system restore (assuming it's worked before). I don't know if there's a setting in game, but a lot of games have an option to turn off shadows and you'd be surprised how much of load that takes off.

GekyumeGoingBot1 votes

im actually looking into the drivers.. because it said there up to date and like you said i dont feel like they are... and i have done a system cache and im repairing league as of now and if that doesnt work reinstalling it .. the laptop is factory reset ... and shadows and settings are low and off https://gyazo.com/55ccd8e607afc4c9837dfb733bc930ca

GekyumeGoingBot1 votes

Also just by having the league client open like at the login screen just by minamzing it and reopening it makes it stop responding for about 10 seconds then goes back to normal

GekyumeGoingBot1 votes

and this just happened while i was afk.. why? https://gyazo.com/a8c1a1fc81c05858f07f3674cbb40cd8

How warm is your computer getting during a normal game? It might be cutting back on rendering League to keep the temp down.

Another thing to double check is if your laptop is in High Performance mode instead of Battery Saver or Balanced.
