My experience with LOL over the last year

I've been playing League of Legends now for just about a year, give or take. I've had quite a variety of experience ranging from euphoric to absolutely awful. I've come to observe a few things about LoL that have led me to my recent decision. These dissensions include my continued participation as a member of the LoL community. Unfortunately, I've decided to stop playing Leauge. I've come to this decision because of a few different problems I have repeatedly encountered and that have caused the experience of the game to become foul. The first of these is the fact that there is a toxic player in more than 2/3 of the games that I play. When I say toxic I mean that the player is either blatantly uncooperative with the rest of the team (i.e. autolock), verbal harassment, negative attitude, and AFK to name a few. These players are much to frequently found in game. It's become overwhelming and not even worth the game play. Why are these players allowed to play after even one offence of this kind of behavior? It fouls the game. There should be a no tolerance policy for this type of behavior. If the rules are broken, appropriate and timely bans should be placed. This way the individual knows what will happen and that it will become increasingly server eventually resulting in a permanent. These players need to be un-assimilated from the rest of the community. This game deserves a better community base. The toxic behavior needs to stop and players need to be punished for it.

As much as I agree with you, there are a few problems with just banning someone for a report. Just the other day I got reported by my whole team, it was a joke because my whole team was my group of friends and we were all just having fun, but that would have lead to me probably being perma banned. Another issue is that LoL uses a tribunal system, and this system allows other players, players who have been picked btw, to judge cases of reports. Now when my team of friends reported me out of a joke, i received a notice after about 20 minutes. Thats how quickly the tribunal was able to get to my case, and judge me. As much as I also dislike the community, I just mute toxic players, report them at the end of the game, and move on.

I appreciate both of your opinions and feedback. Gives me some insight into what other people believe and in turn revealing whats really going on. I think the tribunal system is an excellent way to deal with offenders. It most definitely protects players who have reported and have done nothing wrong as well. I was more getting to the point that bans should be more serious and not taken so lightly. These toxic players need to learn or be eliminated. Also, as I said before, Riot needs to be appropriate with bans. However, I wasn't aware that they were that timely with the reports though. It's just becoming more and more obvious that Riot doesn't care about it's casual players. Which is obviously the reason they are this big in the first place. Riot is focusing more and more on its pros and how they play. Why? Just as Bronze Prophet stated, it is for money. Thanks for pointing that out by the way Bronze. So, in conclusion... I will be focusing my attention on Dota 2 now. I'm sure there have been many before me and there will be many after so long as there is nothing done about these problems.

League was REALLY fun back when it was becoming big, because the community wasn't as bad when it was still growing. You have to understand though, that they want to make money and banning people will not earn them income. Now the community is in the state of 'If the pro player does something a certain way then I'm going to bash everyone who doesn't do it like him'. Riot had its peak and now their community is the EXACT reason games like Dota 2 and Smite are getting bigger and bigger.
