What the fuck does it take you junglers to gank top?

AdoniseTfA··5 votes·5,371 views

I would really appreciate it if junglers opened their eyes and realized that top lane actually existed.

I am done playing this lane. I constantly have 2-3 people sitting in my lane while it's nigh on helpless when I get a shit jungler who never really wants to counter gank.

I am done having to ward the pixel brush only to have the mid laner and opponent jungler walk in from the tribush to make my lane miserable while in an event where I get a jungler who doesn't want to gank my lane, I am at the mercy of giving up my turret, along with the shit ton of plating, and hoping I can farm the gold back by late game in order to be relevant.

Freeze my wave? No.

Beat the opponent down to half HP? No.

Try to save my CC? No ganks yet until I have a jungler with half a brain.

What on earth does it take the majority of you players to learn to gank top lane instead of sitting with bot lane, which will end up feeding 50% of the time anyway when I am the one being pressurized?

I am done with the top lane when in 50% of the matches you get junglers who will neither counter gank or take objectives. This lane is more coinflip than any other role, and I am apalled at how long top lane has been allowed to remain at the mercy of jungler difference.

3 ranked games on a bought account and already on the boards complaining about bad team mates. [sg-miss-fortune]

I heard people on the boards were stupid but not stupid enough to assume this was my first account.

A kiss and a hug. Doesn't need to be in that order.

I am asking for a gank. Not steps which send me to jail.

Woodakoodashooda5 votes

Become a jungler then. Few people actually want the fucking role so you'll likely never be filled. If you want something to change then you have to be the one to change it. You are the only reoccurring factor in all of your games. Not any one of your given allies or opponents.

AdoniseTfA2 votes

Why the fuck would I become a jungler? When I want to play top lane, and not jungle, and there's a problem with a few junglers who do not know which lane to gank even when the conditions are right, your solution is to tell me to become a jungler.

No. I can play jungle but I want to play top lane. No, I cannot play two lanes at once. And no, I don't need to become a jungler when I am literally talking about this from a top laner's perspective.

Woodakoodashooda6 votes

Then "why the fuck" are you even complaining about junglers? Live with it and stop being a whiny bitch about it then. Most, if not all, of the people who even bother to jungle for you aren't even going to read your post. So, if you want to keep doing your own thing then try not feeling so fucking insulted when someone else wants to do their own thing.

Haze972 votes

He's playing top lane and giving you a top laner's perspective. If he was playing jungler you wouldn't hear him type that page long post out. You do realize there exist different roles in the game? Yeah, somebody needs to fill in each of those roles.

Telling him to play jungle isn't going to make top lane any less jungle reliant.

Woodakoodashooda2 votes

This game's a joke to be honest. 5 strangers are expected to rely on each other to achieve mutual success, but each person's idea on how to go about doing it is vastly different from the others.

Top is jungle reliant? Then I guess we're screwed then, huh? Because if jungle doesn't win it for top then I guess everybody loses.

You know something. Every time I play a game, it doesn't matter what role I play. I rely on my allies to NOT die ever 2 minutes so that victory can be obtainable. And yet, 4.9 times out of 10, I am on the receiving end of most or all my allies, regardless of role, doing absolutely everything incorrectly. And it isn't ALWAYS the jungle.

So, maybe, climb off jungle mains' backs for a bit and do YOUR job without worrying too much about what they are doing?

Haze972 votes

Jungle doesn't need to win it for top. Jungle needs to help balance the pressure so top lane can win it for themselves. There's a big difference.

Top lane is the only role which can carry when every other role is losing. But if your top laner spend the game scrapping for cs under his own turret then you better have an amazing bot lane which doesn't throw.

Woodakoodashooda2 votes

Any role can win the game for a losing team. I've hard carried as Yuumi support for heavy feeders in the past! "My role is strongest and best" mentality is absolute garbage.

the OP speaks far too arrogantly, which is the point. if he jungles, he can see from their point of view why a countergank in his situation would be terrible in pretty much all incarnations

I never play top, but I also see this often.

I play bottom and I get ganks when I don't want them. Jungler just comes to get a double kill because enemies are already at 20% hp, while top is getting killed under tower.

I get that you want to help "lanes that are ahead" get fed.

Thing is I can get fed myself, but top will feed if you don't help in that scenario, because their jungle ganks top often.

AdoniseTfA1 votes

The worst part being that top laners are by far some of the strongest champions in the game.

You see an Irelia, Jax, or Tryndamere go 2/0 in lane and you know you're going have to 3 man them late game and hope two of you'll survive.

Z3SIeeper2 votes

Which is why people play those champions to abuse the fact that half the time junglers will never bother to shut them down even when it's absolutely free to do so.

Thefrostyviking2 votes

By the time those guys are 2,0,0 then most junglers cant go near them XD

if you somehow end up dying twice in a short time in the toplane then its absolutely basic, completely fundamental strategy for a jungler, to just give up on your ass ASAP.

You want ganks as a toplaner? Start by not dying at all first to avoid being abandoned, then pay attention to the junglers pathing and farming.

You see a jungler cant just run around nonstop and gank, they also need to farm, but only the "red" side is actually really worthwhile due to the krugs and raptors, so each jungler will mainly look to clear those when farming.

So if you happen to have the blue base (lower side of the map) then you better except your jungler to only come by rarely because thats the meta right now.....but you can also expect the redbase jungler to sit on your ass because that´s also meta.

You're playing ranked in Bronze/Silver MMR and wondering why low ranked players aren't taking advantage of top ganks to their max potential?

I don't understand the logic of whining about "a topic that has never been posted before" when you're literally in placements with players under the average. I'm not ELO shaming you because obviously you're a low rank since you've barely touched ranked but it's equally silly to complain about bad players on your end...

skills of luck2 votes

As a long time top lane player (4+ years now), a core quality to climb and succeed in the lane is to be able to absorb pressure, and making yourself useful while working with less gold. It's str8 up the least ganked lane, junglers usually only bother with it at lv3 after finishing their buff and happen to path up.
Each role has its general downsides.

AdoniseTfA2 votes

Mid has literally no downsides. I have top as my secondary and I cringe every time I get it.

There's literally no reason to play mid.

It's top and jungle which have it the worst and I feel the only way to climb is to play a champion like Irelia or Riven who never fall off despite a lower amount of gold.

Thefrostyviking1 votes

Mid has no downsides? How about being unable to push or be slightly aggressive at all when the enemy jungle isnt visible due to the lane having the most openings out of any lane in the game?

Being the most central and easiest to path towards? Most junglers will end up looking at mid for that reason while also looknig at bot for being the most rewarding to kill.

A longer lane doesnt matter when you can at least ward the entrances at some point to ensure some degree of safety, midlane has more of those than can be warded so when playing there you either wana freeze the wave at all times or play something with a high amount of range or waveclear to ensure safety from junglers.

The upside of the lane however is having the best spot to roam from which can quickly win you games if it works out.

Haze971 votes

And it isn't even difficult when the jungler ganks.

I play the mid lane. Shortest lane of all. You see the jungler enter you run under your turret in no time. It's top lane where you fear getting caught with your pants down with how long the lane is.

You also don't lose much in case you die as it takes no time to run back to lane. Do the same top while your TP down and you can kiss your turret goodbye.

Thefrostyviking1 votes

And your text suggests you are playing back far enough to let you escape most of the time, or that you get lucky and spot the junglers on a ward and thus have time to run.

I´ve played that lane a ton too.

And what you dont lose much? Dying once midlane and your lane opponent getting the kill means you no longer get to have any form of lane priority for the rest of the game because you can be sure the guy will take his lead and shove it down your throat.....this goes for toplane too though.

Furthermore the difference in length between outer mid tower and outer top turret are not that big, only some 10 seconds or so.

How many attacks can a guy actually get in with a extra 10 seconds early on? That´s not the problem there.......the issue should instead be the fact that AD builds are far better at bringing town towers early and more AD champs use the "demolish" rune from the resolve tree.

A lot of the times they are either all over the map ganking everything or nowhere really. Just from my observation from my games they either get ahead or behind and never inbetween. A vast majority of the time they put themselves behind by doing dumb invades and getting caught. Then sometimes they get put behind when laners do not defend an invade. Then theres the last case where they think its still season 4 and are afk farming the jungle. Because of those variables its hard to get a decent jg these days.

Haze971 votes

Agree. People don't wanna accept it but I've hardly found such ignorant junglers in the past seasons.

It isn't even an elo thing. I'm playing above gold on the Singapore server and it's the same shit there.

answer your own question. Play jungle for a week.

Haze971 votes

I used to play jungle.

If you are going to gank a bot lane which didn't ask for it while your top lane is being camped heavily, you're going to have a very fed Jax/Riven/Nasus you can surrender due to.

a winning bot lane>a winning top lane. By a massive margin. Top lane is the least impactful role on the map in most games. Bot lane is the most impactful role in most games.

OP, you might think this guy I'm quoting is trolling you, but actually try playing the role for a bit. There's a reason top lane is an island, and that reason is that a successful gank in bot lane by default wins your team more than a successful gank in top.

Thefrostyviking2 votes

These kinds of posts are so horrendously pointless i dont even know where to start.

If no junglers ganked top then why in the world are there so many toplaners on these boards complaining that only the enemy jungler goes top?

Furthermore most toplane champs can easily 1v2 when ahead so at that point its not gankable anymore, abandoning a feeding lane (especially top) is basic jungle strategy.

"Edit"

I almost forgot but its currently meta for the junglers to focus on clearing krugs and raptors when possible, so junglers will play around their "red" jungles while ignoring the blue a lot more.

This means one side will focus top more while the other goes after botlane.

The thigh guy2 votes

I love how toplaners are litteraly never happy.

“Junglers are camping top, it’s so unfair, I can’t even play the game!”

Next week “Why does my jungler never gank top,? I can’t win my lane without his help!”

And people say adc cries the most. No. It’s definetly top that cries the most.

Haze971 votes

Pretty sure adc mains cry their ass off even when their role is the most balanced. Most top laners I've played with have been sensible people who are frustrated with how bad the state of the lane is.

On the subject, I've literally never seen a top laner complain about getting ganks and I play jungler often.

That’s almost all I heard from top laners before riot gutted junglers into the dirt.

“Enemy jungler is always in my lane.” “Top lane is always being camped by enemy jungler” “Love how top lane is always a 2v1”

And I haven’t heard adcs complain about anything (on the boards, not in game) since riot fixed the “god has left us patch”(the crit item rework).

Haze971 votes

The crit rework was a massive overhaul which changed the way people would look at marksmen. It took an entire class of late game carries and have them the ability to start carrying a game from the moment the turrets went down.

Top laners have a legit reason to complain. Of the few things we ask for it's to make the lane less jungle dependant and improve melee vs ranged laning which are indeed huge problems which need to be addressed. Most top laners don't even ask for the role to be made more influential but just that we be allowed to play our lane without third party pressure being shoved up our throat.

I main both top lane and jungle, so I know how it is from a jungler's perspective. From what I can tell you, they have garbage lane and jungle management and to compensate they don't gank top. So, it really is shit junglers.

Uhhhhh You want me to hold your hand? I mean I don't wana hold your hand, but if you wana hop on my back sure

IP Masquerena1 votes

Do what you're asked for once?

The laners I get in my games don't. Yea, you can freeze the lane now, but if I'm on bot side at the time and by the time I get to top lane you're in their tower, I won't make a dive unless I know I can do it solo. I'm done trusting randoms, so if you're trying to freeze but you know you can't keep it long, freeze when I'm close/pathing towards your lane.

And sometimes it just happens, if there's an infernal that both teams are fighting for control over, you gotta suck it up as that drake is my current objective and unless you have both teleport and enough of a power budge at that moment to teleport in and change the 4v4 in our favor AND (most importantly) I know i can trust you, I won't abandon that drake for you.

Then there are many other reasons, for example, your match-up isn't volatile and no matter how fed your enemy laner, say Mundo is, getting that Draven on bot shut down is more important.

adceazyas1231 votes

wards. overextended. level advantage. item advantage. flash down. killable. winnable 2v2. no objectives or high priority champs across the map.

Sky Cardis1 votes

Most cases. JG likes to gank Bot because of 2 potential kill over 1 Mid has two points of entry and usually both sides aren't warded at same time. Rift Herald/Baron isn't viable early in the game (unlike Dragon which is also in bottom Lane with said 2 Potential kills)

This is why Top tends to be ignored in some cases (not all). If Jungler A noticed a lack of Jungler B in Top to aid their Top...Jungler A going to take advantage.

SEKAI1 votes

What the fuck does it take you junglers to gank top?

To be on the enemy team.

No even kidding. 7 times out of 10 when a gank on top lane happens, it's because I got ganked by the enemy jungler.

Too bad jungler on my side just so happen to almost always avoid the top lane like a plague zone, I guess.

FOR JUSTICE1 votes

if you're getting 3 man gang banged your jungler absolutely SHOULDNT countergank.

mTdLixtrouss1 votes

On behalf of junglers that aren't ganking top; 2v3 is a lot easier than 2v2, not to mention bot lane has the potential to shred early turret plates.
