Are tank junglers done?

I can't do well with tank junglers Rammus being my go to. Any advice or is it just done this season?

So to start things off: Tanks suck in low ELO. Since you're bronze you probably won't find it easy to succeed on a tank. This isn't because tanks are hard to play or anything like that, but rather because tanks need something valuable to protect. Since in lower rank games your damage carries are very unlikely to position well and are liable to getting sufficiently caught out much, much too often and much too badly for you to protect this is going to make it very hard to succeed on a tank.

With that in mind, tanks that have more "fighter-ish" elements in their kit, including Volibear and Warwick (both champions you could argue not being tanks) do pretty ok as they have more carry potential than a tank. You have more ability to punish your opponents mistakes by yourself rather than setting your team up to... not follow properly.

Speaking more generally, some tanks are doing well this patch and others are pretty freaking bad. Warwick, Nunu and Zac are all good, whilst Sejuani and tank Gragas in particular are pretty bad. Rammus falls into the "weaker side of viable" group.

The meta is all about mobile/heavy cc champs currently. Tanks in general are just bad unless you play high ELO and have a super coordinated team to work with.

I'd think tanks are going to be even better this season. Lower income in the jungle means tanks will be more useful than carry junglers. Tanks get their power spikes earlier than carry junglers and tanks are easy to spam ganks with

They're not in a great spot because their clear speeds aren't great and nearly no tank has the ability to pressure/take Dragon early on. Add on to the fact that tanks overall are not great in low ELO due to needing a team to follow up with them and help them with counters.

Overall the Jungle changes, while originally with good intentions; only ended up setting Tank & Scalers even further behind the curve. There's no sense in playing the like of Rammus, Sejuani, Maokai or Kindred, Udyr, Rengar when you can play Kayn, Lee Sin, Warwick and Olaf. They clear faster, they have better ganks, they have the ability to take Dragon at Lv.3 (except for Kayn.)

tanks junglers are strong. you have to realize that you need aftershock to fight though, so after it procs, dont re-engage until it comes back on.

tank junglers are weak until their 1st clear, as they tend to be low or not that strong until level 3-4. Once you have cinderhulk, tanks are strong as hell.

One huge mistake I see players make is just building a ton of health and no real reistences. Don't be surprised a full lethality assassin blew you up because you didnt buy armor.

On tanks, the go to is to get chilling smite, cinderhulk, ninja tabi (always, dont get mercs, if they are ccing you, you are doing a good job as a tank), thornmail, adaptive helmet or warmogs, adaptive helmet or warmogs (Depend on what you didnt get) - whatever else you may need.

A lot of people rush warmogs, especially on sejuani, but I find that to be a mistake. A huge reason I see tanks doing poorly is just poor itemization.
