How ranking works for the first 10 games

I was just wondering how the points are calculated. Forgot this acc (have played another ones long time) decide to rank this acc, played 10 games, won 8 (with nice kda and mostly positive feedback), only reports i made were 2 afk in one of the lost games.

I rank bronze III? I don´t mind, got other accounts that i play, but just wondering how can it be that there isnt possibility to rank even silver with low elo? And thinking its counting elo from the last games made with this acc (which happened about 1 year ago prob)

Your MMR is not reset between seasons now. Actually, you lose a bit of MMR right off the bat and your placement is based off your previous ranking. No matter how well you do in your placements, everyone on average will go down a couple divisions and have to work back up.

Before, each new season your Placements would be everything in determining where you place; that meant a Challenger could lose all his games and get Bronze, or a Bronze could get lucky and get Gold. That made no sense to make 10 games mean everything for people whose Rank had been worked on before (first time ever Placements will still do this).

You were Silver last season, literally sitting just a few points above Bronze. There was no way for you to get Silver no matter what because you barely stayed there last season.
