why does akali need a speed boost

why does shroud needs to give her back energy?
Why is her E recast global?
Why is shroud duration extended whenever she re-enters it?
That champion has so much unnecessary power its ridiculous.

Because CertainlyT, who so ""innovative"" and their design is so """fun""" so they're allowed to make gamebreaking designs and bend the rules of design 101 to his will whenever he pleases.
No, just kidding, CertainlyT is someone who can't design for shit and only has a following because all of his creations that he solo designed are all broken to their very core. "Fun to play as but not against" as often toted is just an apologist/nice way to say that his designs are fundamentally broken in the context of PvP (Appendix) hence why it's fun for the player to play as and bullshit for the opponent to try and deal with.
Appendix: CertainlyT's creations tend to all have this nonsense where they have over-the-chart and utterly unchecked play factors, which is bad enough but also they for some reason need to rub the salt in by having their stuff possess elements that actively reduce the opponents' play factors and ways to play around them just to tilt everyone who isn't playing his shit. It's an incredibly toxic, sadistic, and not to mention malicious way to design, and CertainlyT clearly knows about this but just couldn't give a shit. Why are you even designing for a PvP game if you don't give a shit about player experience on both sides so much so you intentionally go against it as much as possible?

Looks at r/akalimains: almost entirely covered with people asking for a revert.
Looks at league statistics sites: 49% winrate with lowish pickrate in toplane, and a 45% winrate in midlane.
League of legends boards: “Wtf why is this champion so strong”
Except for professor akali, none of the Akali mains are happy. She is a gimmicky champion with clunky gameplay that perhaps in the right hands and in optimal or niche situations can be strong.
She isn’t necessarily a garbage champion, but she surely isn’t strong. What she is is annoying to play against AND as.
I don’t know why when reworking assassins, Riot absolutely fucking has to make the champion shit to play as and against.
TL;DR: while not strong, she feels horrible to play as and against. I would even say she isn’t a true CertainlyT champion, simply because she’s not fun to play either.
Yeah bro; Repurpose this new Fakali ( fake akali ) champions kit to something else without the busted shroud.
Then PLEASE REVERT AKALI to her original form of 1 . a shroud that players can use pink wards on 2 . a passive of spell vamp / magic damage 3 . and an e that proc's q ( oh we just loved the combo's We just loved them so much)
Then just put a long cd on her ult like 2.5-3.5 seconds or something. Whatever. If you want to lengthen her burst window that is seriously all that is needed. Longer cd on her ultimate; and give her shroud the weakness it always had so that she has more counter-play.

And then akali just becomes a spellvamp skirmisher with a few weak gimmicks, who is busted in low elo but trash in high elo. No, thank you!
If you read the beginning i said to repurpose this new champion into a different one :)
And yes. Give us our Real Akali back. She was fine in high elo back then; many people took her to challenger.
It's really not almost entirely covered, that is a glorified hyperbole to help your argument. There is really about 3 Akali mains that regularly repost asking for a revert. This Shobek guy is the worst offender imo.
She feels great to play imo, they just don't want the old Akali to be gone and are too butthurt to face reality. I would say most of the Akali mains are happy and her rework brought a new playerbase to the champion as well. I for one wholeheartedly love the rework even after playing and loving the old Akali since s4.
Your post is entirely a biased opinion. Just because she feels shitty to play to you doesn't mean she necessarily feels bad to someone else.
Riot shouldn't rework champions and take them away from players who love them. Its really f'd up.
Its so easy to balance things. The original Akali was fine; they didn't try anything to reduce how fast she put out damage like increasing cooldowns. They just gutted her and changed her kit a bunch of times and then reworked her into something that doesnt feel the same at all.
This new champion is cool sure. But it is not Akali.
I'm very happy to be the worst offender by your perception. A testament to my love of the original Akali.
Listen, I've got no problem with you personally, but they aren't going to revert her so I don't see the point in struggling. I would've preferred a revert back to before rickless abandon. I figured when they gave her a VGU it couldn't be worse than her assassin update, and imo it was much more of a success comparatively.
I loved the old Akali, but I was also open to the VGU and looking forward to it after the assassin update because it was a way they could add more skill expression and outplay mechanics into her kit. I loved the old Akali aesthetic but she did need an update imo, she was a binary, statcheck champion that was unhealthy for the game. Fun as hell, but unhealthy.
Gameplay wise she still feels similar to me, and matches my playstyle so I didn't have to many qualms with her new kit. New voice was a bit of a disappointment but I got used to it and now I like it. Her visuals are beautiful, I love the new direction they went with her, with the tattoos and hair. She's not meant to be the same Akali we knew and loved, she's meant to be an Akali two years in the future after learning new tricks and such.
I get that you don't think the new rework is similar to Akali enough, but I do, and I like it. It sucks that you aren't happy with the rework but Riot can't please everyone. I don't think making the new Akali a new champ and reverting back to old akali would work either, because they wanted old Akali out of the game, otherwise they wouldn't have constantly gutted her. Feels bad.
The old Akali was fine. I'm not convinced. If they wanted to nerf her all they ever had to do was to add more cooldown to her ultimate. Her burst was already one of the hardest to get off for any assassin.
Her linear straight forward point and click playstyle was complicated by the fact that she had to auto attack to proc her q and also auto attack a second time to get her damage proc off with her passive; this required a different type of skill & combo management that the game is now lacking as they continue to homogenize champions and streamline the game. Not a single other champion feels like she felt. Not even Diana.
I'm going to continue to speak my opinion; that's all it is.
This game is dead to me for the time being until I can accept this rework. After over 5000 Akali games; I just don't know if I can.
This new champion should just be a separate champion. The original akali was totally fine; This new one is completely busted.
why does shroud needs to give her back energy?

But, Then you realize "Oh snap! Akali has a 48% winrate. and a 50% winrate for her mains!" so although it may seem unnecessary is it really?
EDIT: Also if akali had no speedboost she would be absolute garbage. She would not be able to proc her passive. Why does hecarim need a speed boost on his e it seems unnecessary! /s
Singed's R speedboost also unnecessary. As is Blitz's W, Ekko's passive, and Kled's R.

I agree with all besides kleds. Kleds ult would then just become a small shield XD
You just slowly bounce in their direction with a shield.
Tbh I want to see this once.
Because you can't put it on Q, and E is already rewarding enough. Every other Energy champion has a Energy refund somewhere in their kit. Putting it on her shroud, once again, rewards aggression, since you're now in a better spot to attack.
Because it's actually hard to hit, and much easier to dodge, not to mention her time to kill still being much lower from her rework.
Because it's meant to encourage it to be used Offensively, as opposed to a "I'll never die from ganks because I hold onto my shroud." By rewarding players for aggression, you actually create more periods in which you can take advantage of Akali, as they'll be using their safety tools aggresively (Like TF using his Gold Card, or Syndra using her knockback/Stun).
But stuff like that is too hard to think of, when you can just bitch for nerfs, aye? CertainlyT makes extremely complex champs, that have a bunch of gears and cranks, to allow them to work in a way. Realistically, the real argument is, "Should these champs have to be so complex with needing X many parts just to function" not "This champ has too much power."

play akali it ties into how she chases people early and mid game
its also a really nice defensive tool when used properly
Because her OMG HYPER MOBILE ult is on a 2 minute cooldown? I mean all she has for mobility otherwise is a worse lee Q. All assassins I know of, Kat, Zed, Ekko, Pyke, etc. have OK mobility even without their ult. The only exception is Kass, but his ult gives him so much mobility and is on such a low Cooldown that it more than makes up for it.
I mean all she has for mobility otherwise is a worse lee Q.
It's a better Lee Q since it has infinite dash range once marking the enemy, also it gives a backdash which can be used as mobility in and of itself too (Akali often uses it to cross over walls just like any other dash abilities but merely used in reverse direction) which Lee certainly doesn't have (not in Q anyway, and his W also requires a ward or ally unit of sort instead of just being a free-directional dash). Akali's E is like a combined version of Lee's Q and W, but with better boons and less drawbacks too; it's clearly not a "worse Lee Q".
So in total her mobility and self-peel capabilities are as follows: 1 zoning tool giving absolute and 0 counterplay stealth that covers the entire lane, 3 free-directional dashes in total including ulti, and 1 mark-chase with infinite range. This is not even counting her also having 3 separate instances of MS steroids in her kits, too. I don't know about you but this is utterly ridiculous.

Really? Lee can't go over wall you say? Lee certainly(T) cant go over thicker wall than Akali right? Not to mention that Lee Q has greater range, is faster, has lower colldown than Akali E until level 15, and if he misses he can still just walk up to enemies or use his other dash, while akali trows herself back and looses any chance to engage. And if Akali uses shroud, JUST WALK AWAY and wait for it to end. Shroud may give Akali an area of power, but is it any worse than Trundle Pillar, or than Annie and Malz stun which is (or can be in Annie's case) a targeted ability that makes it near impossible to 1v1 them?

None of Lee's mobility is free directional, at best he could use a ward, but he still needs a ward unlike Akali.
Also, Lee has a total of 2 mobility and 2 self peel (one of which is a soft self peel), but at most you count to 4. Meanwhile, Akali's count on that is a total of 8 mobility and self peel combined, both hard and soft ones included. The difference is utterly insane.
Also, don't give me crap that you can just "walk away" from Akali's W. She very easily just chase you until you have used all your mobility and then bomb the W in your face and you just get juked in there into infinity, given she has the aforementioned EIGHT mobility and peel combined count to make sure this kind of nonsense will always happen. You can't use the same reasoning as say Illaoi R where you can legit call the counterplay as "just walk away" who has almost ZERO mobility, only has ONE CC and only affect ONE target and can be BLOCKED by minions, and Illaoi is also NOT near invulnerable while using her R; this does NOT work for Akali because she defies all of those things, and worse from a BASIC ability.

Where do you get 8? A lot of her slows and speed boosts are fairly minor. Even her stun is VERY short (and R1 is currently bugged so that it can be interrupted by EVERYTHING). A lost of the champions people complain are immobile get these sort of minor speed boosts and stuns, but people never take these into account when complaining about them. And remember that the mobility is taken out of her power budget. Akali can't have good damage on both R1 and R2. And a good portion of her mobility is still on a 2 MINUTE cooldown. Just look at her win rate. It is still low. The only problem people really have with her is that her shroud makes it so that you have to actually THINK and (OMG!) adjust your play style against her. And this annoys people.

If you want to ignore stuff because it's 'too soft' then Lee only has a total count of 3 and Akali has at least 5. So it's not like Akali is going anywhere. No matter how much you want to downplay her ridiculous utility and mobility, you will never go far.
Remember, Lee was the PINNACLE of being an overloaded champion, was. And now, you have Akali just casually DOUBLES his mobility and utility in count, and then throw in something as "design challenged" as Akali's current W too because why not.
She's busted to the very core, let us be very real; something to be entirely expected of someone as mentally busted as her creator as sad as it very literally sounds.

Trust me, as an old Akali main, her mobility was MUCH BETTER. And her sustain. She often didn't NEED to be invisible under turret because you could just HEAL UP all the damage you took. And how come this overloaded champ still has a <50% win rate? That is not how, for example, ZOE was when she was released. She is counter-able. Any long ranged mage has a massive advantage pre 6, and even afterwards her ult has such a high cooldown compared to before that you can't just carelessly engage with it.
EDIT: also, while I agree that Lee probably doesn't have the best mobility, he has an incredible displacement and A LOT more damage than akali, which is fairly consistent, with quite a bit of burst damage thrown in for good measure.

Just because Akali isn't at the level of Zoe, who has the most broken launch/release League has ever seen and probably will ever see until the end of time as well as having the most unbalanceable kit ever imagined, doesn't mean Akali has no issues of her own.
You ask how come Akali has <50% win rate, I ask why is she basically pick/ban in tournaments? Because it sure as hell isn't because of the same reasons like Urgot who is only picked to autowin top lane and that's literally the end of his job, but because of the ridiculous presence she brings until late game which pro matches rarely ever reach.
Just because solo queue is usually far more of a slug-fest than pro matches ever will be and that most people haven't figured her out yet due to her being not anywhere as upfront and blatantly broken as some other champs, it doesn't mean her kit doesn't pose obvious problems at a fundamental level.
I mean, Ryze has stupidly bad solo queue stats too (far worse than Akali), but he's still broken as shit and a long time favourite at tournaments because of his ulti that Riot refuses to change and some other stuff like his ever problematic W and mana scaling (the former has more or less be solved to some extent, but certainly not he latter). The same or similar instances can also apply to, and I am pretty darn sure that is also the case for, Akali.

And yet NOBODY asks for nerfs for Ryze. Nobody asks for nerfs for Ez, Braum, and ppl cry about the nerfs to Senju. And these are some of the best tournament champs. So why only Akali? There are always going to be champs who are good in tournaments. Doesn't mean they are broken. You can't have perfect balance. And champs who are good in pro aren't necessarily the best by a wide margin. They are often just good enough to be competitive.
so you cant just willy nilly walk away when shes trying to activate her passive. duh
Because with out it, her shroud becomes a completely defensive ability, when it should be used equally for it's offensive aspects and it's defense. It has a speed boost, to allow her to get out and in of her Passive proc range. Get rid of it, and what's meant to be a power zone for Akali becomes way too counterplayable, since Folks would just walk away and you wouldn't even have a chance to do anything.
Counterplay is fine. Too much makes a bad ability.
