RIOT PLEASE, the game suffers...

Does anyone feel like Riot is "selling out". I've seen a bunch of comments and such that the game has suffered greatly; there is too much emphasis on LCS and the byproducts than focus on the actual gameplay? They have this stunning new Ranked Champ Select screen however gameplay is at an all-time low and many prominent players are moving on to other games. Champs have gotten increasingly clunky while "META" leaves the champ pool very limited. "I appreciate the culture that has been built up around the game that I love but as the game play decreased in quality I am forced to question this 'Love for Lol'." Open to any thoughts or ideas, I know I didn't exactly make a proper explanation but this is sufficient to open the forum.
