So on a whim I decided to test Mordekaiser's clears and sustain in the jungle. To my surprise he has fantastic clears and his passive keeps him healthier than most champs I've been jungling with. Now my gut says this is a terrible idea, but what do you all think about taking flash+stalkers blade and taking him in the bush?

Before the jungle changes it kinda worked. You could clear really quickly and safely, generally taking no damage from camps after your first clear. Rush the old AP jungle item and maybe counter jungle some as you can often out duel their jungler. Wasn't great tho as ganks are more or less non-existant.
Now? I gave it a try but in addition to your inability to gank (walking slowly into lane, aw ya) the new tougher camps don't just fall down before you like before so you can't even farm up quickly. It's certainly not a top tier choice but if your lanes are OK without ganks you can always come out in midgame hitting hard.
I could see the stalkers blade since the slow helps Mord kill things nicely.
Alternatively you might want to consider poachers knife and trying to out duel the enemy jungler. Lack of escapes make this one risky but if you have laners who can follow their lane well it could work as a sort of "reverse gank."
Draw the enemy laner into their jungle to fight you. Hit someone with your ult so you can 1v2 until your laner shows up. Kill the enemy in the ensuing 2v2. Profit.
BastionKross1 votesI asked myself the same question when I played Morde on free week, during the old jungle. When I stepped out of lane and into the jungle for a quick wraith camp, I was amazed at how easily and painlessly Morde cleared the jungle. But you have to realize that Morde has no mobility or cc of any kind, so his ganks are kind of like a 
before he hits level 6 - He strolls into lane, does damage, and hopes the laner cc's the enemy for him. It's not pretty.
You could build a 
or 
to give Morde some cc for ganking, but that implies you'll actually get close enough to the enemy to apply it. Can you imagine ganking a 
or any other mobile champ? You'd just be wasting your time.
The only way I could see it concievibly working out is if your laners bring all the cc for you; someone on your team takes 
into a lane somewhere and you gank that lane constantly at the expense of the others. And that assumes that Morde can even survive in the new jungle.

BakugoBestBoy1 votesIf your team can win laning phases/go even 4v5 then this is actually great. But that only happens in about... almost no games. But in the games it does happen you get to bypass Morde's crappy laning phase and just farm up 6 items and steam roll teamfights due to the 6v4.
Narasimha1 votesI haven't tried it in the new jungle, but it didn't work so well in the other jungle. He can clear decently given the right runes and masteries, but thats it. He has literally 0 ganking potential. Even Shyvanna can gank better. And with no pressure, theres not much point to jungle him. Atleast Yi and WW get some benefits from afk farming.
