Katarina in my eyes...

Ever since I started playing this game, I had my eye on Katarina. I bought her at level 10, my first champion above 450 ip. I love her, she has such a unique play style, this hybrid assassin / melee control mage, it's quite frankly an amazing rework. Although I never played the previous versions, I still am in love with Kat. She was my first to m4, m5, m6, 100k points... My first main. My first one-trick. I felt untouchable when playing her, it felt great. Then preseason 8 hit. The Kat nerfs hit. Then the meta shifted. Now, she is one of the worst mid laners. Hear me out, please. Why pick a champion, that REQUIRES a 3400g item (therefore spiking later than most mid laners), has less utility (Shields, cc, heals, good team fight (Let's be honest, Kat is a clean up champ, she needs resets for her team fighting potential, basically making it a 4v5 until there is a low health target), the list goes on), has less early pressure (no cc, low damage comparatively, not the best wave clear), and usually less damage (out-bursted by anyone not stupid enough to walk by your daggers, even then most assassins and mages burst harder and faster). I'm not asking for a buff, just reconsider your statement of no Katarina changes soon. She feels horrible to play. I know you can't make too many changes, and this is due to Gunblade and how overtuned the item is. I just want to play my one-trick, without feeling like every game is a 4v5 for my team until I get my gunblade. Her playstyle is so polarizing (KatFuFu originally said this, and I wholeheartedly agree with this statement), post-gunblade. If she is even or ahead she is oppressive, but if she is behind she's useless. I understand the feast-or-famine play style, and many of my mains would agree with that, however, Katarina falls behind very easily. You know how fun laning is this season? I basically have my q cd down to the millisecond due to how dshield and q farm is the best way for gunblade. I hate this state she is in, and I honestly feel like quitting league because we over at www.reddit.com/r/KatarinaMains created a well thought-out post about our qualms with our champion, with data and evidence as back-up for our claims. Instead of even a "We'll look into her state, but we cannot promise anything.", we got a nice "We aren't looking to make any changes to Katarina at this tine." While I respect the decisions of the balance team, league just doesn't feel the same. Katarina was the light for me in this game, I cannot put into words how it felt to finally get consistent with her towards the end of season 7, I love her. I knew ever since I saw her in the champions tab, ever since I saw that smug smile, she was the champ for me. It's funny, however, because as much as I want to play her, I hate her. She feels weak, useless, which is totally out of character for her. She will always be my cocky assassin, but I cannot play her in this state. It pains me to see this once great assassin, with one of the highest skill ceilings in the game, to be this terrible. I'll never forget the joy of buying her, or my first first blood, or my first flash e ignite for a kill I thought I had lost. She was my first love in league, and still is my only. Please, I love this champion...
