NERF BRAND SUPPORT! Can Riot make their step to AD carry players?

FixMatchMakingRG··13 votes·1,422 views

Brand I think now it's time to nerf Brand support, like Malzahar and other simillar style champs that comes from midlane, he should get some serious nerfs in botlane. His kit, passive + mastery Deathfire Touch, has too much damage early, pluss range of his abilities, it's impossible to even farm properly as AD carry, because he can zone you with his abilies, if you start to trade with him, basically you are dead only because of his damage from masteries, passive, abilities and auto attacks, AD carrys are too weak to counter that much damage early. In midlane his damage is okey because he focuses his abilities to get farm and etc., auto attacks are too weak to farm properly. But in botlane he can fully focus his all strengths to do lethal damage to AD carry, it's even impossible to lifesteal taken damage back or go for some good trades with him, he out damages you pretty hard and it doesn't seems that he gets out of mana, (new support item (gives % of missing mana and gold) gives big bonuses for supports like Zyra, Brand and other spell caster type champs, they can cast their spells too much and do much bigger damage in game like other carrys, and they classified as supports, rly?), basically you are dead before his mana is over. I know, you will say, do trades when he has cooldowns, but they are too short, for his Q and he can still AA you, and what's about farming? Do you can do that all together, i think no! To sum up, i think Brand should get some nerfs in botlane, mby his abilities should get bigger mana cost or cooldowns because it's impossible to deal with his damage overall, there is something that has to be done to balance him as support. And i hope employees from Riot can do some changes in next few patches, good luck! :) Thanks for attention, please upvote this post so others can share their oppinions and some of employess from Riot can see and read this problem. Respectfully, AbsoluteZero1337.

Can we just nerf brand in general?

The guy does way too much.

I made a post about Brand being able to one shot without getting fed and got downvoted, this Forum is a bunch of hypocrites or people with mood swings.

Actually this forum is full of people who are tired of reading absurdly exaggerated posts by you.

You should try to be more reasonable with your posts, then you might get the response you are looking for.

Way too much? Have you seen recent champs?

I am talking about brand support right now, don't post silly questions that aren't about the topic.

Post silly questions? Are you serious?

The comment I replied to is silly. Brand overloaded?

That's completely ludicrious.

All Brand has is AOE damage and a stun. That's it. That is not overloaded.

It can be Overwhelming in a duo lane. That is different. Best check yourself.

If you can't dodge a Brand combo, then you deserve to take the damage.

Two of his three primary abilities are easy to dodge, if he can't land all three then the damage you take will be far less significant. Poke the ADC, ignore the brand and boom, you win lane.

The only way you lose to a brand support is if you're terrible, there I said it.

Mby in bronze you will have situation like this, but in higher elo brand supports tend to go all in, they are way more agressive, brand has more damage overall, they zone you so you can't even farm and how can you ignore him, if he stands in front line, you can't even get to enemy AD carry to do trades and if you do so, they focus you together and basically you are 1vs2, so how can you win fight? Pluss if brand goes ignite, there isn't possible way to win fight.

A smart Brand will wait till you attack a minion to W. You standing still on an AA will mean that you won't have time to dodge.

You can dodge two of his most significant abilites, w, q both which are the main source of his dmg. Also he runs out of mana fast if he spams abilites, also for his dmg and poke he gives up the strong peel most other supports have he has to hit his q while someone is ignited to peel and it only works on one person. Tanky supports especially ones with cc and pull are good against him because he is just as immobile as most adc's. Instead of complaining or asking for a nerf how about you play him bot see his weakness, see what he suffers against and play it to punish him. Champions like lucian can dodge his stun and abilites, champions like blitz ca punish him for being immobile, jg punish him for having no consistent peel.

Why are you mentioning only the things you dont like? He has a lot of damage but in compensation if you poke his adc he won't be able to shield or heal, for example.

Dude dodge his w. I've never been scared of brand in bot lane. Dodge w, win lane.

If you don't really know, please don't write your thoughts. ;)

And? My elo doesn't define my game knowledge, if you think that you can win lane by just avoiding Brands w than you have limited thinking or you just play with people who doesn't know their champion full potential.

FiddlesOnTheRoof1 votes

Ok. Then play Brand and get to Challenjour! Sounds easy!

Eh. As a Brand player I can say that I don't like playing him support.

If there is a way to nerf his support play while compensating his solo laning, I am all for it.

As an AD main, I would much rather play against Karma Zyra Lulu Brand than against Blitzcrank Thresh every single game.

The former I can at least try to blow up, good luck doing that against those hooking fuckers.

TimX24968B1 votes

but the last 2 don't harass your tank support out of lane, though.

FixMatchMakingRG1 votes

Against Blitzcrank and Thresh there is possible way to punish them while they have cooldowns, they can't poke and zone you with their kit, like Zyra, Brand, overall they have less damage like Lulu, Brand etc. And you shouldn't be afraid of them because it's easy to dodge theirs Q's.

Sure if you're willing to have marksmen nerfed out of other lanes too. Corki Ezreal Graves Jayce Kindred Quinn Vayne

TimX24968B1 votes

jayce is a marksman?

ZT Xperimentor1 votes

Does primarily physical damage? Check From noticeable range? Check Can carry teams? Check. Able to chunk through any objective? Also check.

TimX24968B1 votes

But he is also melee so i would call him a hybrid

ZT Xperimentor1 votes

Indeed and agreed; as I've tried building both a hydra and hurricane on him, and found he works with both depending on form.

However what I'm referring to is . . . how do you see him played most? Getting up in the enemy's grill beating them down with style like galio? A flexible cross-class champion, shifting through a fight as he needs like nidalee? Or sitting back and dealing damage from a distance like ezreal?

Also where do you see him played usually? Often top lane.

If you're struggling that much, I'd say both you and your support need to work on performance. The support should be able to at least help deal with him—he's really squishy, so if you have a support with CC (and all supports should have some form of hard CC, let's be honest), you can chunk him down to the point he needs to back off for a while or even go back to base. If he's not standing front-line to try to do maximum damage, he shouldn't be that much of a problem at all. At most he'll get his W off if you keep minions between the two of you, and your support should have some kind of shields or healing to protect against most of that damage, if not all of it.
