Essence

You can only get essence from chests.I Think.

Essence only is obtained through chests (which is pretty low chance) or disenchanting champion shards (for blue) or skins (for orange) which I feel is stupid. I really think you should be able to buy essence for IP honestly, especially since how little you get from disenchanting and how little you get from the chests when you finally do get any.

It probably sucks if you couldn't spend any money and was lucky enough to get one of the ultimate skin shards and then see you need over 3k orange essence to make it perm, and then realize that it'll take probably around 4-6 months for you to actually get enough essence to upgrade it if you're lucky.

Also with Mastery 6-7 being tied into hextech crafting, all the more reasons to allow people to buy essence with IP...We really have been needing another thing to dump IP on and this is the perfect opportunity.
