Normals matches have been terribly unbalanced lately.

I understand that there is a difference between normals MMR and ranked MMR, and that folks often come to normals just to mess around.

But the weight in power here, and over the last several matches that I have played, has been absolutely ridiculous. It stands to reason that someone who is diamond or platinum will have more damage knowledge than a silver and be able to rofl stomp them even when not on a champion they know. I asked and also did research on the four people on my side ( red side, which traditionally has higher mmr combination) if they queued together and they didn't. OP.GG supports that. So does their bickering and griefing as we got slaughtered, throwing around threats of reports. And I know my own MMR isn't Plat+.

So why is it that the enemy team has diamond and platinum to our silvers? Is there something wrong with the coding?

I've been a pretty good sport through preseason. The game feels bad to grind, so I've just quietly waited for it to die down. Get my FWB and go play something else. But this kind of thing makes me not even want to reach for that.

Sorry for the rant. Anybody else having similar experiences? Or maybe any ideas on how to fix it?

Normals MMR and Ranked MMR are different..

someone who is in Challenger can still play in with Silvers if he has played no normals games.

I clearly stated that I understand this within the first line of my post. My point is that it seems as though the system should be able to account for these fluctuations in skill across the divide of ranked and normals. I was looking for potential suggestions on how to correct it ( Such as giving their starting mmr in normals to gold tier instead of silver by default) as well, or just seeing if other people were having the same problem. I am aware that a while back there was a bug which was stacking higher mmr people on one team instead of distributing it evenly and wondered if it could be occuring again.

First of all, no.

People who play normals are either new to the game, are warming up, or just want to have fun. Ranked MMR should not affect your Normals MMR for this reason.
