Should I use attack move or attack move click?

Is the smartcasting version of the autoattack (attack move click) better than the regular A+left click? (For example, smartcasting spells is generally considered better than not smartcasting, is this the same for autoattacks?)

I am asking this because it is hard for me to get used to "smartcasting" autoattacks, so I was wondering if it is important or not.
