AoE damage adds up and skews damage charts. If you hit 5 people for 25 damage, you are going to be dealing more damage in the long run than someone that hits one person for 100.

Ornn is only good if you let him be good. As someone who Mastery 7'd him before the very first buff/nerf:

-Every part of his kit has preparation or major limitations. It's up to his targets to not fall victim to them:

Q takes 1.5 seconds to charge. If you're still near the pillar when it spawns, you're doing something wrong.

W Locks Ornn in one direction, and soon, it won't even have "Unstoppable status" and can be cc'd. Furthermore, W ONLY applies Brittle if you are standing in it for its last tick. In other words, you have 2 seconds to get out of its path, which Ornn can't change (unlike Rumble who CAN change the path)

E requires a wall or a pillar to hit. If you listened to #1, you'll be far enough away from his Pillar for him to use it to knock you up. If you've played vs Vayne or kayn, you should also know, that means not walking next to a wall or diving a turret with a melee champ. Again..... completely avoidable.

R usually gives you major response time. Unless you are right at the end of the Goat's path when it starts, you can just walk right out of the first hit, and if you're near Ornn, you can just walk behind him, and throw off his patience and reduce the chances of getting hit by charge two. You can also CC an Ornn during his ult to disable the second hit.

In the game you chose to snapshot, His opponent is a Kled. Is there any surprise he did a ton of damage?

  1. Kled is a linear AD Melee. Perfect target for Ornn.
  2. Kled builds over 4k HP. Ornn's W scales to HP of the opponent, as do brittle procs. I'm willing to bet given Kled's damage, he spent the entire game face tanking Ornn, and jacking up that damage. You also had a really crappy Ekko Mid, and an only "Okay" adc who both apparently lost their lanes, because all the damage vs them is very healthy. Leona apparently also sucked, as no Leona should only have 7100 damage in this meta of Aftershock.

Who thought a tank assassin would be a problem!

What about the rest info? Kda? Because vayne for all we know might have been half of the game dead.

That Ornn was in fights 30 times with 63% kill participation, which none of you besides Thresh were in fights for as long as he was in.

He also built Thornmail, which inflates his damage dealt to champs given its sustaining reflected damage and the fact Ornn was hard to kill.

Iceborn Gauntlet is also has AoE damage, which cranks up the damage dealt. The same goes for some parts of Ornn's spells being AoEs, including his main damage source.

What you're doing is a case of misdirection.

character with lots of AoE damage does the most damage

WOOOOW RIOT WOOOOOW

If you want to go by that logic, then vayne, ekko, and Leona need damage buffs.

i dont know what you are talking about. Ornn is fine. Nothing to see here. Keep moving everybody.
