Need advice on what to do as adc

I'm a gold 3 player from the euw server and i'm in some sort of bad spot.

So for the past few weeks ive seen my botlane getting absolutely annihilated by the ennemy botlane during the solo ranked and i'm starting to get fed up as it seems like it is getting worse with time going on. So I decided today to become an adc main instead of a top laner as i feel that the adc involves himself more with the team. I'm not here to bash the botlane or anything I know that every now and then people fuck up during games, I'm just writing this post to ask eventual adcs what are the basics of adc and some tips to better help the team in game.

Thanks in advance to anyone that'll reply to the post with good advice :)

Learn positioning. That's first and foremost.

Errr learning what your champion is. Whether late game or early game. If your late game just try not to feed your ass off and you will eventually outscale. Do go for kills if they are free though. Also don’t take trades if you will miss a minion, not worth it. You should also understand when you will power spike and try to have synergy with your support. Lastly, for the love of god have the same game plan, if your support is playing aggressive tell him or her to stop or play along, and vice versa.

From what my friends have told me, the things you really have to learn as an ADC would be being able to cs, being able to push your lane, etc. I also have a hard time as ADC, since I primarily play Support, and I'm so used to being the 'support'. Just keep practicing different techniques and you'll eventually be a good ADC for your support.

I would also say, understand what support you have and what they can and cannot do......for example if it's Leona, don't expect to play safe and farm, she's hard engage with low cds and can keep engaging on the enemy, also shes melee, so she can be poked down easy if she doesn't play aggressive, just make sure to get ready to fight a lot....you can cs when you kill the enemy lane. If it's Jana then expect to farm most of the lane, unless she's really good, then maybe you can get some good trades/all ins going.

To be a good adc you have to:

  1. Blame everything on your Support. This is of utmost importance.
  2. Never ward.
  3. Ignore minimap and all pings, never setup for ganks, help your jungler, collapse to dragon, or participate in any way. Simply farm non-stop till 'end game'.
  4. If the support or jgl ever touch a single minion, even if you're not in lane, scream non-stop and threaten to afk.
  5. If the support gets a kill, scream and blame him/her for kill stealing.
  6. Don't forget to report your support at the end of every game.
  7. Don't forget that nothing is ever your fault, every loss is because of your allies, and ever win is because you carried.
  8. Always be toxic.

Know your supports

If you have a tanky support or with tons of CC they will play more aggressively like Nautilus If you have an offensive support they are going to need mana to poke more often and can get kills Brand Healers just heal you and try to pokeSona

ALWAYS prepick your best ADC. Chances are that support will go synergy, if not, then try to give good ADC yourself, if not experienced enough yet, then go with your best. Even if you win early game, if you bring unexperienced ADC it will cost your teamfights.

There are 3 support types.

Tanky-CC such as Leona, Alistar, Tresh, Blitz etc.. These guys live for engage, and you MUST follow up. So always pay attention to them, and be ready to engage at all times. If countered with Morgana, or Braum, or Ezreal, then try to play safe, and be prepared for HELL.

Poker such as Brand, Fiddle, Vel'Koz, Zyra etc.. These guys are all about poking the sht out of the enemy, but their trade will unlikely worth it unless you do the same. Best if you bring Ezreal, Caitlyn, or Sivir along. If countered, then stick to turret, and farm/poke from there.

Protector such as Lulu, Janna, Soraka, Yuumi.. These girls are about keeping you alive at all times. DO NOT all in until level6. But remember, that pretty much any trade is auto win, if the support is good. Poke when you can, but if health goes down quickly, then disengage. Also if playing against all-in enemy, then disengage instantly until 6 unless you are very confident to beat the enemy. Best if you bring something with big damage. Your survival will be the job of your support, and not yours. Varrus, Jinx, Vayne are great ones.

Current top ADCs: Ezreal Easy to survive with, because of the free flash, but difficult to deal real good damage. Surviving the game is not enough. You need to deal damage, and that takes some practice. Still he is one of the stronger ones with big versatility. He can poke the hell out of the enemy, can easily disengage to be healed, and can give nice all-in on the CC-ed enemy.

Vayne Probably the hardest ADC in the entire game since. Ever. But a good Vayne wins lategame. Period. There is no counterplay, no counterbuild, no counter champion for lategame.

Draven Not exactly easy, but a good Draven wins botlane with any support against any enemy. And a fed Draven will win the game easily as well. He still needs skill though.
