Can we revive dominion? Make it more fun/exciting?

So lately I've fallen in love with hide and seek, but in this one I had changed some of the rules. One of the changes was that when the minute turned 40, we would switch modes and play classic dominion, regardless of who won. And during one of those game mode switches, I thought to myself why do people not want to play dominion any more? This is actually fun.

Well one of the answers to that maybe because of poor skill matching. Every time I would play dominion (when it was still being played) I would lose because the other team.. well.. dominated too hard.

But why can't we change that? Can't we tweak some things to make it more fun, more enjoyable? Of course we can. We just have to let Riot see that.

The main thing I want to see changed is rallying. This is one of my made-up terms for League of Legends. Sometimes, you play matches against other teams just as powerful as you, and only the small factors somehow change the game. But in most team fights, deaths are mostly equally balanced after the skirmishes. So throughout the whole game, the 2 teams go through power struggles that literally "bounce" back and forth. It goes on and on, and it begins to seem like no one is going to win. That is what I call rallying. And I LOVE it when I encounter games like that. It's so fun, because it keeps going - each team gets a certain amount of time to have the power, before it switches back to the other.

I think this is what should happen in dominion, because after a rallying battle, whether you die or not, you at least feel a small amount of satisfaction - the thrill of SO MUCH going on. It gets exciting.

Honestly, I think dominion is still a fun game mode, but I think it can be made more fun, with the help of Riot reworking it, just like they reworked Summoner's Rift, to make things more fair, but more exciting.
