Did you not learnt anything from Dominion's removal?

sublime732 votes

true people might get tired of it after months or years but so what? if it gets played as much as it dose now for that long would it not have accomplished its goal of keeping people having fun with the game?

BeatzBoyFTW3 votes

It only accomplishes its goal to keep URF fun for like, a week. After that, it just gets real boring & becomes such a waste of space, and therefore needs to be removed. No need to even try ruin game modes by making them permanent.

"Opinion" is just another excuse for "I don't agree with you".

Exactly. You posted your opinion in order to tell everyone that you don't agree. The problem is that you pretended you were stating an objective fact.

BeatzBoyFTW2 votes

And that objective fact was the main reason why Riot removed Dominion anyway, and all I'm stating is that URF shouldn't be forced to be in the same line with Dominion.

People need to start acknowledging the fact that making game modes permanent is always considered bad & unhealthy.

No, see, the point was that it isn't an objective fact. It's your opinion.

No, that's also an opinion. I can see you're having trouble with this concept.

BeatzBoyFTW2 votes

So if I were to say things like "I totally agree with you! URF should be a permanent mode for everyone!", would this be considered an opinion too? Technically speaking, an opinion which shouldn't be taken as seriously as my original "opinion"?

My bet is that your comment would say "yes", but deep inside you, you'd be like "That's my man! See Rito? I told you people still support URF being permanent!".

The objective fact comes from Riot as well. "Games got stale very fast" aka URF got boring after just a few games.

Again, your opinions have no more weight than anyone else's. Very few people share your point of view.

Again, learn to read:

Well, regular URF was stagnating super fast and had some unhealthy play patterns. For example, it was probably one of the hardest hit modes for a 'stagnant meta' whenever it was released. Games quickly devolved into a slideshow of the 'perceived' best champs. Whether or not they were actually OP (hint, they usually weren't :P), seeing the same 20 champs every game got boring REAL fast. It took the RGM team a little longer to convert URF to be All Random, but we believe that countering the stagnant meta will go some way toward making it a much healthier mode. There’s still no guarantee it will be a silver bullet for fixing URF, but we’re hoping you have fun with it!

Maybe your NA brain can't handle text, here's exactly what I stated and the EXACT quote from the text:

Here's what L4T3NCY said, the exact part:

Right, L4T3NCY expressed an opinion and you agreed with it. Most other players don't.

I'm sorry that you feel the need to condescend. Just be aware, in your dear little heart, that you're not really qualified to do so in this case.

Your inability to comprehend the many reasons for releasing ARURF in URF's place--and the alternatives that were considered--is not justification for ignoring those reasons.

But it's supported by statistics. URF, like most featured game modes, has a massive dropoff in popularity after only a short period of time.

No, it's not. RGMQ times remain short throughout weekends during which URF is the RGM. All other game modes are have queue times as long or longer. No other game mode has had multiple official petitions (signed by tens of thousands of people) asking for it to remain permanent.

Be sure to send me your data so I can help you see where you went wrong.

the number of people in queue are not the only factor for queue times. Riot has explained several times that all the iterations of URF mode have had massive dropoffs in popularity after only a short time.

You're welcome to keep repeating the same non-fact over and over as if it makes a difference. It doesn't change the fact that none of the other game modes have had nearly as much popular support as URF or ARURF. End of discussion--let me know when you've got that data ready to send.

It's not a fact that there are other factors that affect queue times? It's not a fact that Riot has said URF has a big dropoff in interest after only a short amount of time?

Riot doesn't need forum users to verify their data, they have employees paid to do that. If you are saying they are lying about their data analysis then providing you the data would just make you change your argument to saying they were lying about the data they provided.

Once you say they are lying about their findings or intentions then you pretty much throw away any chance at having a meaningful conversation.

Wow, there's no need to be rude. It was a simple request--send me your data and I'll verify your claims for you. It seems pretty clear at this point that you were lying as an expediency. Sorry, friend, that doesn't cut it in the real world.

Where was I being rude? I'm taking an honest appraisal of your viewpoint.

Riot said that URF's popularity falls off dramatically over a short period of time. You say that's not the case. You say that Riot claims this to cover up other intentions. That is the definition of lying. You don't use the word lying in reference to them but that is what you say they are doing.

Why so defensive? I'm only being candid. If you can't interact in a forthright manner, you might consider taking some time away from the game so you can clear your head.

Riot said that URF's popularity falls off dramatically over a short period of time. You say that's not the case. You say that Riot claims this to cover up other intentions.

I didn't say that anywhere--you seem to have reading comprehension problems throughout this thread. This might be related to the difficulty you're having in transmitting your data to me.

That is the definition of lying. You don't use the word lying in reference to them but that is what you say they are doing.

Based on the above, it sounds more like you think they're lying. I said no such thing. But your repeated suggestion to the contrary (together with the lamentable comprehension issue you experienced above) is strongly indicative of a pervasive reliance on psychological projection. And that's fine, as long as you're aware of it; all people engage in various strategies for self-preservation, so don't beat yourself up. Just keep it in mind, so that you can continue to improve your interactions with people and strive for honesty, candor, forthrightness, etc.

After you're done working on yourself, try again to send me that data.

Nah. TT isn't worth playing more than once a year.

Far more people are prepared to play URF every weekend than TT. That much is obvious.

Well, I still get shorter Queue times in Ranked 3s than I do in SoloQ :p So that is saying something.

You're definitely not the odd one out. Many people have walked away from the game in the last year--most of the players who inhabit the boards aren't dissatisfied customers, just easy money. (This has been the case essentially since the forums were replaced with "The Boards" and since Riot Games became Riot Slick Web Design).

Twisted Treeline (3v3) has one of the best competitive scenes, and is an amazing game mode that doesn't get stale after a few games. In fact 3v3 got SO MUCH better than it used to be, just by giving it a Flex Ranked queue that you can now solo/flex queue ranked without having to always have the same teammates online.

URF and the other silly modes, are just that. They are a change of pace for something a little light-hearted. However, I personally don't enjoy them. ARAM/Howling Abyss is pretty acceptable as a alternative game mode.

I play about 300 games a month, and 250 of them will be 3v3, 48 5v5, and 2 "other".
