Rek'Sai Visiblity
With Rek'Sai coming out soon, I've seen quite a few comments about her, and the game-play she is supposed to employ. Being a global pressure tanky/bruiser kind of champ, who can employ stealthy tactics for ganking and counter jungling, but not as hard of a stealth-like kit like Eve has. So, one thing that really seemed off to me was the visibility of Rek'sai while she is burrowed... Not only can you see her health bar and name of the player, but you can also see buffs/particle effects from things like runes and stuff making it inherently obvious that she is sitting right there, and no less stealthy than if she were unborrowed.
Note that I don't play on the PBE, so some of these suggestions might already be implemented, but here is how I think it should work to maintain stealthiness, while not giving her such a hard stealth as eve and the lot have. Also note that some of these suggestions I've seen around the forums, and I decided to compile together what I think would be the most effective. So if you suggested something similar, I give you credit if you had come up with it first, but these are the things I think would make her game-play more fun and accurate to her theme (menacing tension-building land shark)
First, Make Reksai's health bar and name un-seeable while burrowed to the enemy team (that includes the level indicator). This would make the menacing shark fin what you have to look out for, rather than looking for that big floating health bar which is a complete give away. If you remove the health bar and the name then having to look out for that fin would definitely be more tension-building which is more thematically accurate as stated earlier.
Second, Rek'Sai's tunnels SHOULD NOT be visible in the fog of war. If you could see her tunnels, that ruins the entire point of her stealthy counter-jungling sneaking in and out to steal enemy mobs. The enemy jungler should Have To Work to find the tunnels and counter-play Rek'Sai, not play passively knowing exactly where the tunnels are located making it extremely easy to deal with them.
Third, Reksai should have a general indicator of What her HP Value is at while she is burrowed. If the health bar is not displayed, then she needs a more subtle and easy to gauge method of how damaged she might be without having to display that health bar above her head. I thought that making the fin (where the purpleish glowing part is), change colors/intensity depending on how hurt she is would be a great easy to gauge method to know if you should try and engage or not. For example, she could have the faint glowing purple when she is at full HP, a slightly more intense/glowing orange color when she is at half HP, and a bright intense Red When she is at low HP. This would offer not only a rough gauge of how much HP Rek'Sai has, but also make her more noticeable the lower her HP is, without having to display her health bar which would be TOO noticeable.
Fourth, having Rek'Sai's Icon not be displayed on the mini-map to the enemy team while burrowed would make it easier for her to gank, but still giving counter-play to the enemy by allowing them to look out for that shark fin. If you are focused on pushing the enemy tower, if you are taking quick glances at the map to look out for potential enemy gankers, then Rek'Sai would not show up on the mini-map even if she is in vision of the enemy team, meaning that YOU HAVE to look out for that fin to know if she is coming, making that menacing tension-building feeling she is supposed to get across more thematically accurate in terms of gameplay.
Finally, the last thing would of course be to remove any noticeable particle/buff effects while she is burrowed. The effects would still display when she is not burrowed, but while she is burrowed, things like red buff and blue buff don't show up, making it harder for the enemy to gauge how strong she might be if she's got both blue/red buff, and also making her less obvious when she's got big bright runes floating around her fin.
Combining these ideas would make Rek'Sai follow the sort of Lad-Shark theme where you don't know exactly what you are about to face, and don't know when it's coming. It could really help her game-play out, and make her burrow more stealthy like it should be.
