Gold Border

Hi everyone :D

So I got a friend who placed Gold last season (S8) buuuut hes kinda toxic so he had very bad honor at the end of the season. He got a notification that he wouldnt get rewards, he is totally fine with that. What we ARE wondering is why he doesnt have the past rank border? When you go on his profile it says nothing under past rank and his current rank says Gold 3. In the lobby all of us have our Bronze/Silver banners, but he has nothing (it is checked). So because of his bad honor does he not get to show his rank on top of no rewards???
