Why does Aatrox's w(heal) not proc on towers?

Why does the heal part of Aatrox's w not proc on towers? I understand why the bonus damage part of the ability wouldn't proc on towers but it seems to me the healing part should work if it is toggled on. If you compare this ability, heal every 3rd attack, with other characters like Xin Zhao who have a similar ability, heal every third attack, there appears to be an inconsistency. Xin Zhao's heal procs on turrets but Aatrox's doesn't. Is that simply an inconsistency across champions or was it intended? In case your wondering I've pasted the numbers bellow which I have taken from the league wiki page.

Aatrox heals 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 every third attack Xin Zhao heals 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 every third attack

Atrox's heal is considered life steal and is based on how much damage he deals to a living source. Xin Zhao's heal is an ability that heals at a flat rate. It would be like if he automatically casts a heal ability or drinks a health potion after every third attack.

The inconsistency that I would argue with is that champions can't life steal off of towers, but they can on wards.

Go to the wiki page and click on the ability details link at the bottom of the ability description.

Atrox's W is an on-hit effect. Life steal is an on-hit effect. You're correct it technically isn't "Life steal" but it works in the exact same way.

Xin Zhao's W is a self-buff ability. It's essentially an ability that is automatically triggered by a third auto attack.

No, the self buff triggered as a result of a hit. Meaning a count is added to his healing buff, and his increased attack speed is refreshed.

Either way, it just is this way and Riot explains it appropriately. It's the way their kits work respectively and the fact that they are inherently different adds balance to the game. That is one of the greatest things about League of Legends. They have done an amazing job of creating balance by creating imbalance. By forcing champions to be played differently, each has their own strength and weakness.

because rito. Why doesnt tarics passive proc on towers as well ? No one knows. Meanwhile leona can spam her q on towers to push em down faster than i can take a dump.
