Started in Beta - Quit - Came back 2 days ago but why I won't stay
So I just wanted to give some constructive feedback on the game. It has really improved in almost every aspect of the game except for a few things. For me the enjoyment of the game is typically outweighed by the amount of frustration involved with playing the game. It is the matchmaking. For as long as I played the game it has been a huge drawback of the game and it is a fairly complex issue. Part of the issue is that there is no quality control of players there are some incentives to be a good sport but there isn't enough to keep toxic players out of ranked. You can report every troll and sandbagging player you come across and still have almost 100% chance that there will be 1 guy with an attitude that ruins the game for everyone. It is not about hurt feelings it's about a guy that doesn't want to cooperate and wants to get under the teams skin by sabotaging the teams effort. The other component of this is that riot has a long history of denying the problem. The usual response is something irrelevant about how the criticism are coming from entitled players that think they deserve a rank above their skill level. The fact of the matter is the only fun matches in league win or lose are the close games and those are so few are far between that it is not worth investing my time or money in the game.
In short league sucks at dealing with trolls and sabotaging players in ranked and they have sucked at it for years. They ruin the game on both sides and in general make the overall experience a negative one. These players often throw the balance of the game off and they chase away core players like me in the process. Whom by the way as you can check my accounts have spent 1000's over the years supporting riot games.
Secondly they deny having the problem at all which prevents anything from being done about it. I am not speaking to winning or losing, I am speaking about the equality of the skill and experience on both teams or just simply the difficulty of getting 5 players on each side willing to give the match a decent shot even if they aren't doing so hot.
Hope I didn't run to long with my post I tried to keep it brief and get my point across. I may check back in on league in the future but for now coming back just refreshed all of the good reasons to play other games where these problems aren't as rampant. I get it, this is the internet where trolls thrive, but in order for a game to but fun and competitive there needs to be a basic expectation of the players and they need to recognize the opportunity is dependent on a basic level of decency. I would rather play games that at there core are not as good as LoL but are able to keep the matches more interesting through better quality control of their player-base and a more reflective approach to their responsibilities as to the outcomes and experiences of their players.
