Is Jayce worth buying and playing in Season 6?

Hi guys,

Since new season is coming I want to change something. My main lane was mid, I played mages a lot, like 70 % of games, 30% in jungle. But in S6 mages got pretty hard nerfes on items and masteries so I was thinking about a new mid lane champ. My choice is Jayce cause he can be played on both mid and top lane. But Ive never played him in my life cause I do know nothing about him.. Can you plaese help me out and tell me some more about this champ? Is he worth byuing for S6?

CHeers!!

He has alot of little things that you have to learn and master before he is any good. He is one of those champs that you either main or you shouldn't play. Other than that the last whisper change hurt him, but he is in a average spot over all.

Yeah he should be pretty good this season, more frequent poke with the 5% over the CDR cap mastery should make his siege even better, and Jayce gets pretty strong even just in full out fights too mid-late game

Jayce is just fun. Whether he's strong or weak, he can still be at least close to viable because pole comps are timeless and generally work around pretty much any patch. He is a little tough mechanically as it requires knowing the best situation to use hammer fork or cannon form and how to utilize the stat bonuses on the transformations.

I love playing Jayce personally but that's just me

I agree with one of the earlier posts, the Last Whisper change hurts him. He still does a ton of poke damage and is super bursty when running his full combo. He benefits from the tank meta being over since there are less beefy front-liners to block his shots form hitting the backline/squishy targets.

Not quite as strong as last patch, but still very viable in the right set-up/against the right opponents.

Does better top because landing his EQ combos is easier a that lane/minion angle if you ask me.
