Ok!!! So my friends are having WW3 over these topics, and I gotta stop this. They are arguing that Renek beats poppy and vice versa. They are fighting over multiple scenarios like lvl3, lvl2, and that poppy can still win even if lower elo. Please help!!!!
Slythrin Umbreon2 votesIt depends on elo and who hits level 2 first. In any Elo, If renekton hits 2 first he should probably win lane. In high Elo, If poppy hits level 2 first then Renekton can't go in and should probably win lane. Low Elo, it's a toss up of whether or not Poppy can react. Obviously more complicated then that, Renekton can still fuck up too and Poppy doesn't have literally 0 ability to outplay. But this is probably the biggest deciding moment in lane until level 6.
After laning phase is over, assuming even ground Poppy should beat Renekton at everything except bursting one person down. At this point, it won't have much to do with either of them, and depends more on their teams, and if Poppy's team is still in the game she's way better then Renekton. In High Elo. In Low Elo, everything is thrown to the wind and you just have to hope your team is less defective.

If Renekton gets cockblocked too badly, he doesn't do much of anything in general. Poppy doesn't "win lane," but blocking a Renekton's snowball has pretty similar results to killing another champion a few times. Swap him out with a fiora or something and it wouldn't be so decisive.

and at level 6 what will happen is nothing if both are decent because poppy can just ult rene away, and if rene still has stun up then something went wrong. but this is my own opinion, renekton wins alot of top lane matchups though, and this one is either a win or a stale mate that requires the junglers help for poppy to turn the tides.
edit; and if nothing happens but they both farm then poppy wins because like i said, poppy is a champion you want in your teamfight, a fed master yi? ok wait for him to blow q and R him away.

if u start sustain on poppy and arent an ape then you should win more games then rene, shes better over all and just needs to farm items and keep her turrets, there for poppy wins the game, rene wins the lane.

Its a skill matchup, but in a vaccuum the poppy wins; she punishes melee champions by just existing. Renekton dashes poppy WQs. Renekton stun dashes poppy WQs. Renekton basics poppy Qs. Renekton ults poppy ults.

Thats... simply not true. In lane, its a skill match up because a good renekton will successfully bait the W and then do their work, or bait Qs and trade safely. But a poppy will pretty easily counter any melee champion who isnt orrn, because her Q is a very strong trade tool and her anti-mobility makes her quite safe against engages.

no not in my mind and thats all that matters to me, like i said renekton DOES STOMP POPPY in lane, but if poppys good she will make best use of passive and farm with Q if needed, renekton will at some point ty to dive poppy, but poppy has the most anti dive kit in the game, poppy IS THE BETTER TEAM FIGHTER hands down.
hOrnn1 votesbasically theres so many retarded people in this game that dont even freeze a lane in a hard maatchup and feedlord, they dont have any clear where the jungler was last and time it by said champion or anything, thats fine too, just sayn renekton is a toplane stomper, he wins alot of matchups but his teamfight is shit unless his teams fed then he wont have problems.
good top laners bring things other then single target stuns and tankyness to teamfights.
