Why am i being matched with these people

Lxgitz··3 votes·519 views

I started playing at the end of season 2, i then proceeded to play ranked after the levelling process and i admit i was fairly bad at the game but so was everyone i was matched with so why is it that as a season 5 gold player and season 6 silver player i am being matched with people who havent even finished their promotional games and have 50-70 normal wins and have lost previous ranked placements and literally feed every single lane. the worst bit is my reports dont seem to be being read because surely somebody who feeds their own lane then feeds mid lane then feeds my lane seemingly intentionally deserves some form of punishment, a warning at least? i dont get how im expected to climb with players like this in my game, plat, diamond and masters players dont have to put up with this so why should i? it completely ruins the experience of ranked for me and everyone else in the game yet these new players still swarm the silver elo like a plague

Because a section of Silver MMR is far enough down the ladder to be determined the base rating for players.

still doesn't mean i should be matched with unranked players with no placement game wins when im silver 2

Sona Ping1 votes

How shouldn't it? Why shouldn't players with the same MMR be matched together?

if a person who has only just started ranked and has lost all their placements so far has the same mmr as me i should be really concerned about my mmr

We have different issues. In our games, we frequently have smurfs with 70-90% win rates that stomp lane. I had 8 of these in a row on the enemy team, and it's extremely demoralizing at the end of the season. All you can do is hope is that they get where they belong quickly :/

indeed whilst we get matched with people like the garen in question

one of the games in question is this gem, note garens build and kda and then note his damage http://matchhistory.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/EUW1/2900447639/200063271?tab=overview

oh my... if he was still in placements hes definitely heading to bronze 3 or 4 <.<

it be lìke that2 votes

i posted a match history link complaining about this exact thing once, got suspended from the boards for a day... hmm..

Lxgitz1 votes

suspend me if they want theyll just lose a player

when you're playing through your placements your mmr fluctuates alot. running another account through placements had me matched with everything between bronze 3 and gold 2.

Lxgitz1 votes

it just sucks, i remember when i got to 30 it was a grind and by the time i was there i knew the essentials of the game, 90 wins i believe it was when i got there but this guy had 50 wins and had lost his 2 prior placements so surely he should be put with bronze players to make the game better for us and him. its almost as if its easier to get to lvl 30 now

The Magyk1 votes

it is... they reduced the xp required for level 30 by half. you get there with half the games played as you did before.

Lxgitz1 votes

now thats just dumb. since when in a team based game has it ever been a good idea to let even more inexperienced players into the ranked system

New players are really common around Silver 2.

I myself have only been playing League for two years, and last year I did ranked I got put in Silver 2 after my placements.

Silver is very hard to climb out of because there are so many different kinds of players with differing levels of experience and skill. The new player could be trying their best, but they could be matched against a much more experienced player.

New players in Silver is a problem, especially if you're in your promos, but I don't know how Riot could fix it since the system determines Silver to be the average.

Lxgitz1 votes

possibly by not allowing them to play with silvers if they've already lost 2 promos and won none, i understand fully if they've won 3 promos or something but not if they've won none of in another game i was in not even played a ranked game

The Magyk1 votes

if they won three promos in a row they'd be matched with golds.

and the only reason silver is average is because everybody is stuck in silver due to new players, trolls, feeders and idiots in general and it sucks

If you think once you get out of silver your trolls, feeders and idiots will go away you are sadly mistaken. I've got accounts in all elo's except low diamond + and I can assure you, you cannot escape that reality. And like someone else mentioned you come across smurfs even more often. Also if a player is better than silver, they will rise out of silver given ample time. I would argue that Platinum is the worst of all elos, but that's just from my personal experience and opinion.

As I was reading this I thought what a cry baby and answers to the things you complain about are simple.

Why did this person feed intentionally every game?

You only played one game with the individual. Why did he feed? Maybe the person he was matched with was better in skill level. Have you never feed in a game if so you should go professional because even pros feed in the LCS. Maybe by smaller marjins but you would except them hardly to die at all considering they are suppose to be the best the game has to offer.

Why did I get paired with them?

Maybe you both hold the same or similar rank that reflects your individual skill level.

How can I climb with my teammates feeding every game?

No way possible you have people feeding every single game you play. I have bad days where I feel as if I'm "feeding" or losing lane more times than I normally do on average and can still pull a 50% win/lose ratio. If you happen to never feed then congrats because you'll have a better one than 50%.

I know you are going to read just one particular thing in this post and say something along the lines like "but I never feed" or "it is my teammates fault" which is fine. These complains honestly don't deserve a response to begin with. Take it as you will.

how does riot see fit that he is the same skill level as me thats what i want to know, and yes its every game bar a select few where i can actually do something, check the comment with the link to my match history and look at that game. yes i have bad games and do really bad but literally every loss besides those few is down to team failure, my most recent game my team was taking elder dragon with an inhib down and no nexus towers, the enemy team then charged into the base and finished us off with only me defending

Lxgitz1 votes

also as i said in an above comment i looked at his match history and he did terrible in his 2 and only prior placement games so why did riot put him in a high silver game? i have nothing against new players what i do have a problem with is new players in my ranked games at silver 2, with his previous matches being lost he should have been playing in bronze

Lxgitz1 votes

it may come across as crying but im highlighting a serious issue thats holding players back, ive seen people worse than me placed higher then drop to bronze which will in turn hold other players back, its a team orientated game and its just not possible to play the game properly when theres players on your team like the people im being matched with, you either try to play the game properly and objectively and end up losing because nobody else is or you have to stoop to their level and play it their way in a desperate effort to keep the team together and hope we can win teamfights
