Champion Mastery and Dark Horse Roles

Recently I've been playing a lot of games as Ekko, but instead of being a mid lane assassin, I've been a bottom lane support. I've won 3 games, lost 1. In every one of them I've played my role, usually winning trades in the bot lane.

Yet at the end of the game, the champion mastery rates me as a C- for winning the game as my designated role. I think this is because the champion mastery expects me to have more kills, rather than assists, so it thinks I did badly.

Is this how the feature is intended to work?

It doesn't recognize the role you play, only the primary role of the champion.

So Teemo, Kayle, and Kog'Maw can't be mages. Leona, Morgana, and Zyra can't be supports. Twisted Fate, Gnar, and Kennen can't be marksmen. Thresh, Taric, and Braum can't be tanks. Nocturne, Urgot, and Jarvan IV can't be fighters.

They said that it would recognize your role, but not even team builder makes it do that.

That isn't because it didn't know you were a support.

That is because even Ekko support is somewhat of "a thing" atm, and the other people playing Ekko support stole more kills than you did.

Hey there,

The system does compare you against other Ekko Supports, we're not comparing you to mid-lane Ekkos. Everyone is new to the champion so the standards for Ekko supports may be a little high at the minute!

Some of the other comments in the thread are saying that it only uses default role, but that's incorrect. We use default role for the Titles (Grunt, etc). Grades look at the position you played in that game.

So successfully doing things like apc Malz bot might be a way to get "easy" high grades?

sow how does the game know if im going support nid (which isnt viable anymore since the traps nerf but thats another story) mid nid , bruiser nid, or jungle nid.

and sicne you here.. why was nid traps vs players nerfed when you specifically posted that the traps nerfs was inteneded to hit her jungle.. when all you needed to to to nerf her jungle was lower the 150 damage cap on monsters to 50?

nids traps deal 40 damage unitl nid is lvl 14... even at lvl 1 oppeonts heal that off in 5 seconds. 10% was weak enough as was fine vs players with no complaints for 8 months. why the rework?

The system is tuned to see what role you're playing, I'm not sure how that works, but that's how it was stated in the Q & A.

It thinks Ekko is a midlane assassin, so it rates you as a mid lane assassin.

It should go based on the role you play not the recommended role of the champion :/
