Duo Que's in Ranked
I have noticed an interesting event, since I have reached gold, that seems to occur a lot, a platinum or higher player duo'd with a silver or lower player. No big deal right? Wrong! From my personal playing experience the difference in skill level from platinum gold is very minimal to almost non existent in most matches, but the difference in skill level between silver and gold is huge. I won't go into the numbers but under the last time I checked roughly 70% of LOL players are in silver or bronze, about 25% are in gold and platinum leaving only 5% in diamond and above. So here is the issue that occurs for me. I will que up solo in a ranked match ( i am gold tier) there will be 2 other gold tier players and then a duo que with one being platinum and one being silver. The silver player is in a match where he is playing well outside of his skill level almost always leads to a lost game. The platinum player is playing at his own skill level still (not above it) leaving one team with a player in a match that is too high for their skill level and in essence that game becomes a 4v5. I have been on both sides of this( the team with the messed up duo and the team that does not) and it is unfair for everyone involved.
My idea is simple, if nothing else, and realistic. Make it so that players can not duo with someone who is more than one tier apart from them. As in a gold player can not duo with a bronze player but they can duo with a silver player. It wouldn't solve everything because you will still have people playing in a matches outside their skill level but it will not be nearly as frequent and the difference in skill will be less than what is happening right now.
