Why disable Gangplank for such a useless reason?

Ever since Riot started Retcon'ing lore here and there and making a general mess of things, I stopped giving a rat's ass about it and these recent events haven't changed my opinion on things. I also believe that many others feel the same way. Thus, I don't give a shit if he died in the story and I wonder what went through their heads to believe that disabling a champ for the few who cared was a smart idea. I assume GP mains are asking themselves the same question.

They disabled it because GP died in the lore, I feel like that's a good enough reason.

Actually, a lot of people love the lore and if you haven't read the new champion bios for TF, GP, MF, and Graves and the 3 Acts, you're definitely missing out. It's so well written and gives the champion's so much life.

actually, it's not that well written because it relies on previous knowledge of the champions and the game

the detail level is appropriate though, but I feel like they're basically trying to copy Dota's dark nature instead of giving champions life and personality

Uh what?

Miss Fortune goes from some random Bounty Hunter to a devious mastermind with so much development and a real motivation.

Gangplank goes from the most basic and stereotypical pirate to a mercilessly reaver that isn't afraid to teach people respect.

Graves and Twisted Fate has so much of their background revealed and they really develop throughout the story as characters.

I didn't get to miss fortune, but the characters felt so much better before..now gangplank goes from Jolly Roger like Jack Sparrow to an "I kill whoever I please" bastard. Twisted fate goes from a man with a dream and charming flair to master thief and a sellout...he's a gambler...and I don't remember the specific reason he joined the league.

Graves I never payed much attention to, but if you watch the only video I know of where he's featured, he's smiling and a classy trickster with a trigger finger that says "I only need one shot"

though nautilus was a pure monster in that video

I stopped giving a Twitch's ass when they removed the Institute. I used to LOVE lore and couldn't get my hands on enough of it. Now I feel largely indifferent to it. Just feels illegitimate, like fanfic.

While Im kind of disappointed Nautilus wasn't somehow involved in the event (Who desperately needs a new lore after the retcon), I must say that those involved have pretty cool stories behind them now.

Also, Im 99% sure Gangplank isn't dead and Miss Fortune will never find his corpse.
