What's up with the mastery reward after a match system?

I've been trying to get My jhin tokens these past two days, but I'm confused. Why did I get a A+ for my jhin game: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2191422433/209774827?tab=overview But an S (Not even an S-, and S!!) on my Kha'zix game?: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2191446036/209774827?tab=overview

The overall score for my jhin game should be better since I participated in more kills, did more damage, had higher cs, and near the same gold amount and around the same Game length and I had to destroy the nexus to win the game as jhin. And for Kha'Zix they surrendered. I simply don't understand. Shouldn't my Jhin have ATLEAST an S? In conclusion I think the mastery reward system isn't exactly "accurate" and It's caused me to waste more time to unlock these damn tokens. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

It's based on how people play the particular champion, not just a certain score threshold that you have to meet. It's different for each champion

Your grade depends on your percentile performance compared to all other performances by all other players playing jhin adc. Lots of things are taken into account for what qualifies as 'performance' (not just kda, but objective participation, kill participation, cs, warding, etc.) but the main thing is you're compared to other people rather than absolute numbers. If you didn't get the best grade, it just means enough people did it even better.

For some champion/role combinations, the top performances are pretty insanely good, so even a performance like yours was 'only' an A+. For other champ/role combos (e.g. kench adc), even going even would probably net you an S.
