Spin off games

I feel very strongly that riot should create some console version of this game. I see the wild success of series such as: Final Fatasy, any of the Elder Scroll games, Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, heck... Even Street Fighter, and I just think... Why hasn't riot launched something like this. Even a rinky-dink pay-for-play iOS game would kill it. Every character already has a rich and detailed background; and let's be serious, they have nothing to do with the actual game play. But if you took the "Street Fighter" idea of alternate endings and stories based on the character and applied it to a Pokemon/ Final Fantasy-esk fighting style there is no reason an iOS version of the game isn't out already. If they wanted to take it a step further then the open world Elder Scrolls type game is totally plausible as well. I would just like to see this deeply rich universe of characters reach its full potential.

Theres been silly little flash game-esque things for events occasionally.

I have little doubt Riot Games will eventually live up to their name and have more than one game. Although it's possible they're doing something not league related at all.

But that is exactly my point. There has been zero effort, to my knowledge, of expanding and exploring this universe of characters. The game is very technical to play, which I love, but I feel like there is much to be desired in the realm of story telling.

Well the last few events have been a lot more in-depth than they were a year ago, so theres a lot more story telling going on recently, along with rather expanded bios for a variety of champions, most recently those related to targon and shurima. Actual visibility of all that lore and story-telling could probably be improved, but I do think they're definitely making progress there, even if it's not in the form of gameplay (i.e. spin off titles).

Which isn't to say that spin-off titles wouldn't be a fun way to explore the league universe.
