It sucks, but it does balance out in the long run to dead even. One thing to keep in mind is you really do land where you belong, so if you lose a few you shouldn't worry too much, as it's a bit easier to recover to a point.
Also, having this mentality will keep you calm and collected throughout games. "Oh well, next game is that much easier". Maybe it's why I get so many "cool headed/tilt proof" honors, but I always try my hardest til the very end, and never worry about a loss. I love the close ones, and sometimes I've even won 4v5s.
No joke, play for fun, even if you're trying your hardest, challenge yourself to see what you are capable of when things get rough, to me that's the most fun part. When someone claims they're a smurf, I ramp up my tryhard level x10 and have at it. The ones that lie usually pay dearly, the ones that don't lie at the very least will have a fight on their hands. I see too many tilt when someone simply claims they're a smurf.
