There are still too many problems with this game.
I thought that this new "hyped up" season would change a lot of issues with the game. Unfortunately it did not. Let me explain though.
We have new bells and whistles and shiny things to play with regarding runes and what not sure . . . but then you realize 80% of them are just repeats of what we already had. Some hilariously over powered, and some hilariously underpowered. Honestly there's just no reason to pick any of X on a lot of champs, and some champs just actually have 0 viable choices. Meanwhile other champs are going to require 80 different nerfs just to let half the roster through. Regarding masteries and runes . . . nothing was actually solved. In fact the problem has only escalated to the point I don't think it'll ever come back down. Legitimately ask yourself how
someone like him is going to be relevant beyond the like 10 OTPs that play him? No actual rune works on him, so you're already playing at a roughly 5k gold handicap.
Despite the early wonders of the preseason, I think champion constriction is now at an all time high. Before this seeing champions at 52-53% wr with high winrates was considered over powered . . . we now have several champions breaking 57% winrates with nothing being done about them. In fact 3 of them really close to this winrate have a 15+% play rate with nothing being done about them. As it stands, even with 10 bans you do not have enough bans to remove X amount of champs who are so hilariously over powered that they strangle everything else out of the game. If Miss Fortune, or Ezreal, or Leona get through you have a very low chance of winning. That's only a hand full of them too. We're at a time where if you do not pick 100% meta you'll probably just be ran over. And it shows even worse in diamond +. Can you sneak through the cracks as a dedicated OTP on some champions? Yeah. But those are the exceptions and not the norm. And I think they require a high roll and fortunate circumstances of not being counter picked/etc.
Kleptomancy exists: I honestly think this keystone breaks competitive and the game in general. The fact that you can RNG into a won lane off a couple lucky high rolls is absolutely retarded in my opinion. I honestly don't find it very fun knowing that I can't win bot lane because Ezreal RNGd his way into a pink + 2 wards + a red elixir which gives him a long sword in lane before he even has to back. How am I supposed to play around RNG. If I dedicate my jungle route to ganking bot, and he just very casually gets a red elixir mid fight and then kills us all with it???????? That's even worse than crit chance.
Very simple champions are stronger than theyve ever been, and are too strong as it is.
Right now, I'd legitimately argue with you about why you'd pick any other mid laner over Malzahar. He doesn't struggle lane. His mechanics are next to 0, and he can single handedly delete anyone on your team every 30 seconds. He can use his 100-0 two button combo every THIRTY SECONDS. Quick silver is on a 90 second CD. This means that Malz can open a fight with ult. Mid way through fight, use it again, and then use it a third time at the conclusion of a delayed skirmish. You might ask how you fight that? The answer is . . . you can't. But it gets worse. When you stumble down to bot lane you have Miss Fortune, who from roughly 1,000 range . . . can just out right kill you with a single push of Q. You can't play around it because her Q for some reason prioritizes you now whether you're behind two waves or not. ((when prior MF Q relied on her having to damage you for marking.)) Meanwhile several other adcs have to set up combos/play around minions/rely on their support and a number of other things. Miss Fortune? Just push Q. The sadder part is. Miss Fortune's q is stronger than 90% of the adcs rosters capabilities up until late game.
Match Making is very similar to season 5. AkA terrible.
Let me show you what a d4 mmr game looks like

Just so you can understand. D1 players arent even able to play with d4 players. Just like D3s arent able to play with plats. Yet here we are with a d1, a p1 and a mixture of diamonds all in the same game. Matches like this aren't even uncommon. Additionally, the current name of the game in upper elo is League of off role. Games are often decided because of how the match making currently works. It's generally a safe bet in that one team will have players on massive loss streaks whereas the other team will have a team of people on massive winstreaks, and they will just roll the loss streak team over. If this is not the case ((even though it is a lot of games)) The game will often give one team 2--3 off role players while another team will have one autofill and the rest of them on their mains. This usually ends up being a 12 minute stomp.
MMR gains are kind of all over the place.
I do not know why, but thanks to how current match making is, the game cannot decide on whether I deserver 21 LP, 15 lp, or 17 lp. It all varies based on coinflip, but even when I have diamond 3 mmr the game will still intentionally treat me like garbage. Meanwhile, if I end up losing two games due to excessively toxic players I will lose 44 LP in two games and have to win 4-5 games in a row just to even make up for it . . . and this is with respectably decent mmr. In order to climb in upper ELO as it is you basically have to be a master/challenger player just to make it to the d2-1 range or play horribly broken champions. People say that it's because of the preseason, but I feel that this will just continue long after preseason. Riot Games showed their general negligence last season and in season 5, and I feel that this is going to end up being one of their worst seasons and it's going to make a lot of players quit.
I myself no longer have any interest in this game until these problems are fixed. I made it to D3 - 50 LP before I quit playing this season, so I feel no shame in calling it quits. I'm generally having no fun, and I feel a lot of problems are being swept under the rug and I don't want to be here for the inevitable massive let down this company is about to provide a lot of us.
I just figured I'd share my opinion before bouncing. Cheers friends!
