Two forms like Jayce - both with shield

Form based on item purchase - when player completes one, they cannot get the other:

item 3087 - caster (do you have any other spears?) item 3142 - close combat

Since he'll have forms that adapt based on item selection/choice, lets give him a kit that gets bonuses based on whichever form he chooses.

AD casters Top laners have always been about Top lane dominance, so lets keep his Q. If he goes caster with Shiv, it gives a bonus like a knock back in exchange for a longer CD. His W should no longer be the gap closing stun, but instead be a sort of defensive stance that offers a shield or something along the line of Fiora's Riposte in case they hard engage him so that he's not 100% offense. Lets remake the E as a sort of thrust of his spear that also stuns people only if he manages to block something with his W. Regarding his R, lets remake his ulti so that it have something to do with the fact that he is the embodiment of a Greek God of War. I think it should be an empowering ability like Heimerdinger . If he chooses to empower his Q, it becomes an AOE skill shot with a long range that can act as a sort of engage. If he empowers his W, think this:

A means to protect his allies. Something along the line of smashing the ground with his shield and then there's an energy shield in front the enemy team has to damage to get to them that also negates any damage in front of it until it gets broken. Like Yorick Dark Procession.

If on the off chance he is able to use his E and its empowered, lets make it an AOE knockback of all those in front of him.

Now onto the close combat build path. As you saw in that video, I take it you already have an idea of where I'm going at. We'll eliminate his spear throwing Q and instead offer him a target (yes point click enemy champion like his current Q) charge with increasing speed + empowered sword attack after a certain distance around 800. We'll keep the W, but remake the E into a two part slash like XinZhao W or Rengar Q that everyone hates and it needn't have a conditional activation like with the Caster. Regarding this form's new R, lets give him a God form like Nasus R - whereas the other one empowered his weapon, the close combat version empowers his body. In this form, give him reduced CD on all his abilities. Change his Q to a dash (only use once). Reduce the duration of his W regardless of whether it gives a temporary shield or acts like Jax Counterstrike or Fiora Riposte (reduce duration), but even with reduce CDs, make it possible for enemy team to fight back. Make his E flash faster and more damage. Basically make close combat Pantheon R be like MasterYi R, but for AD caster.

Lets keep the passive the same for both forms. Instead of the current block attack, lets remake it into something that gives bonus HP, armor, and MR the more he kills and/or levels up. Small scaling pre finish item. Larger scaling based on level if he goes spear and larger based on kills + assists (+ minions) if he goes sword.

Regarding pre-item completion QWE, lets keep it the same as it is now except the W since it doesn't change regardless of what form he takes. Lets also keep his current R as a sort of Greek God Descends upon the battlefield kind of thing that for whatever reason does magic damage. I have no issue with Pantheon's early game, only that his late game with team fights is completely loss.

The current "you either make it or break it" during the early game form of Pantheon kind of doesn't work for me.

Likely make his kit less point and click. His current shield passive has to go.
